The Presidio Branch opened at its current locationin 1921. The Italianate building, designed by G. Albert Lansburgh,was built with $83,228 in Carnegie funds. It is surrounded by a lovely park. Features include free WiFi, free community meeting space, numerous internet access computers, generous seating, and a popular interest collection.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, we will be having a Lion Dancing performance on Saturday, 1/14 at 2:15pm! It will be outside at the front library steps (If it rains, it will be in the downstairs program room). All ages welcome.

Join us Tuesday, August 16 at 3 pm for Safety on the Street. The Community Youth Center (C*C) of San Francisco will present a one hour course on how to protect yourself and intervene safely as a bystander.
The Coalition for Community Safety and Justice Program will introduce the training with the following objectives:
1. Avoid becoming victims on the street and public transportation
2. Protect yourself in threatening situations (De-escalation skills)
3. Intervene effectively as a bystander without compromising your safety
At the end of the training, participants will receive a free gift, including a f***y pack, a whistle, a flashlight, an alarm key, and emergency card.
Self Defense for the People, Friday, July 22 at 2 pm. Learn how to defend yourself in everyday urban situations such as riding a bus or walking to your car. This class is developed specifically for seniors. Class is taught by Legacy Filipino Martial Arts and Self Defense for the People.

The Flying Angels Chinese Dance Company Perform!
Join us next Saturday, May 7 at 2 pm as the Flying Angels Chinese Dance Company will perform traditional and contemporary Chinese dance.
The Presidio Branch Library is restarting our weekly drop-in Wild Goose Qigong classes starting Tuesday, May 5 from 2 pm to 3 pm. Wild Goose Qigong is a series of 64 graceful standing movements taught by Lois Brady designed to improve your health. This class is offered every Thursday.
