Spike’s would like to encourage all of our customers to come out and support Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy TODAY at 2:30 in front of the school. They are such a valuable part of the Castro Community and we need to pull out all the stops to keep them open!!!

Tomorrow!!! Please join me at Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy for a rally to SAVE OUR SCHOOL! I have seen the passion of the teachers, staff, and parents of HMCA first-hand, volunteering at the annual So You Think You Can Drag Fundraiser for many years. I've spoken to more than one parent who has told me that HMCRA saved their child's life. There really is no place like Harvey Milk.

● HMCRA is a safe haven for the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies.
● HMCRA educators have developed our unique civil rights curriculum focusing on identity, race, social change, and activism across all grades. Our school serves as a model for all schools, especially amid national hostility toward q***r and non-white people.
● HMCRA has fostered a uniquely inclusive space through its small size, thoughtful curriculum, and excellent support for students with disabilities and learning differences. Countless students who struggle in other places have thrived in this environment.

Today only! From 8:30-12:00 Maitri Compassionate Care will be selling their annual Mutts and Meows Calendars at Spikes! And as an incentive, if you purchase a calendar, you get a free drink!!

The competitors are set and we have 9 dogs and 2 cats all competing for a spot on Maitri Compassionate Care's Mutts and Meows Calander! Donations/votes will be open until this Sunday, October 9, so don't forget to come in to Spike's to support your favorite pet and support a great cause.
