I’d like to thank Mark Nicco and Dan Daniel Kent for starting this project. I’d like to thank Jeremy Fish for lending his artistic talents. Kudos to Manny Fabregas for doing the greatest sanding, scouring and painting a sign has ever seen. Thank you Shawna Peterson for installing the Neon with such precision and a huge shoutout to Randall Ann Holman for being the ribbon that tied this whole project together! So honored to be included on this short list. Who’s ready for a beautiful martini or two?
5 Classic Martini Bars in San Francisco Shaken or stirred, with a twist or an olive, the martini is an icon. But while many venues serve the drink, only a select few count as true martini bars. So what makes a martini bar a martini bar as opposed to, say, a neighborhood bar or a craft cocktail lounge? History. A martini bar isn’t newfan...

Friends of Tony Nik's:
Wishing you all a very Happy Fourth of July and long weekend! We are proud to share that we have now been open a year since the lockdown (we were closed from March 2020 to June 2021).
The roller coaster of the last couple of years did have it bumps and turns. But Tony Nik's is going strong again. Tony Nik’s has been open since 1933, serving our guests through the Great Depression, World War II, the Vietnam War, recessions, earthquakes, Tech Booms, Tech Busts, and terrorist attacks on the U.S. A worldwide pandemic was not going to take us down!
After over 22 years of guiding Tony Nik’s into the 21st Century, it is time for Dan and I to hand the reins over to a new proprietor. I am pleased to announce that Sebastian Scala is the new owner of Tony Nik’s. Sebastian began as a Tony Nik’s patron, and got his foot in the door as a bartender one night every other week 18 years ago. Sebastian became Lead Bartender and progressed to be Manager for the last 16 years. There is no better person that respects and understands Tony Nik’s history and legacy, and no better person to continue the Tony Nik’s magic.
Thank you to all of you for your friendship, support and loyalty over the years. Thank you to a fantastic staff that brings the magic of Tony Nik's alive every day. Dan and I are grateful to all of you and we have enjoyed every minute (except those minutes involving plumbing or dishwasher problems...) of the last 22 years.
Please join me in wishing Sebastian happiness and success in the years ahead.
CHEERS!

North Beach history!
Friends of Tony Nik's:
June 10, 1996. 25 years ago today, Devon Hersch entered the legendary Moose's Restaurant and Bar in iconic North Beach to begin her first shift. She brought her smile, her talent, her wit, her compassion, her genuine love and respect for people, her intellect, her old soul essence, her youthful exuberance, her charm, her style and her class - all wrapped up into one beautiful human being, inside and out. 25 short years later, Devon is a living legend and icon in North Beach.
I am so proud that for 15 of those years she has shared her magic at Tony Nik's. Devon makes Tony Nik's better, North Beach better, and Dan's and my life better by being in it.
June 10, 2021. Happy Anniversary and Congratulations Devon! May you continue to reign supreme in North Beach for years to come!
