Hi, I’m David Sciplin, I’m originally from Toledo, Ohio and have lived in San Jose since 1989. The majority of my family is in the Midwest. My last name is very unique with everyone with the same being related. My 26 year old son is advancing his football coaching goals at San Jose City College.

My professional journey in real estate began with 12-years in property management. We managed housing co-ops. I received my real estate license in 2005. In my first 5-years, I was both a real estate agent and loan officer. My related experience was as a finance & IT director of a local nonprofit and a payroll & GL accountant at a digital marketing company. I’ve had a love of technology since high school. Before most had cell phones, I built computers and trained small businesses how to operate them.
My passion is in photography where I’ve been a special event and wedding photographer for over 20-years. My last big shoot was in 2021 to photograph a 2-day 70’s R&B concert in Chicago.

My values and beliefs come from my father who believed everyone deserved decent housing. I believe everyone has a right to create their own generational wealth through home ownership. My professional philosophy, education is important. I’ve talked to too many over the years that were taken advantage of in housing and mortgages. Taking the time to educate my clients is to offer the knowledge they need to make the best decision for their situation. My belief in educating my clients requires me to maintain my learning opportunities. I have a degree in Business Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. I continue to advance my real estate knowledge with the following designations and certifications; GREEN, ABR, RCS-D, MRP, PSA, RENE, SFR. I’ve been involved in the community coaching youth sports for over 20-years. Most recently, I coached at Del Mar High School in football for 9-years and track & field for 12-years. During that time, I was a part of 5 league championship teams. I’m currently transitioning to coach at M***a Vista High as their next Head Track & Field Coach.

My most notable personal achievement was coaching a skinny freshman and helping him grow into the region’s top high school football defensive back. My professional achievement was actually small. I worked with a man living in a 55+ mobile home community. His parent had passed away, he was under 55 and facing eviction. He was emotionally stuck and unable to make a decision. I got management to allow more time and through listening and understanding, got him to take action. He was originally offered $500 to sell, I was able to get him $35,000. That was the lowest office sale that year and my badge of honor.

My current project is my second book as a guide to assist sellers navigate the home sales process after the owner passed away. My first book is for buyers; Buying a Home - What to Do & What to Expect.
