The Dancing Cat

Affectionate Precious is ready for her forever home! She loves being brushed and petted, eagerly accepts belly rubs, and she often chats with people, especially around mealtimes. She'll tap you very gently on the elbow if she'd like some head scratches. Content to curl up with you for most of the day if you work from home, she also loves making cameos on Zoom calls. She gets the zoomies for a few minutes in the evening and will have some fun chasing a wand toy. Once she gets to know people, Precious appreciates having the choice to follow you room to room, sit next to you, or make biscuits on your lap. Precious prefers not to be held for long periods or restrained (aka hugged). She's very affectionate and will give you all the love you will ever need if you allow her to do so on her own terms. You’ll never feel lonely again with Precious by your side! Precious has a condition called stomatitis, which is an auto-immune condition that causes chronic mouth and gum inflammation in cats. Despite the best medical care possible, Precious will live with this manageable condition for the rest of her life.

Racquel is a beautiful dilute calico with an easy-going spirit that is a joy to be around. She gave birth to a litter of five kittens in a backyard, and now that they have been adopted she is ready for her loving forever home! Racquel is a sweet easy going girl who will do almost anything for a Churu treat including stand up on her hind legs to reach one held over her head. Racquel is very food motivated and treats are the secret to helping her feel confident with new people. During the day her favorite nap location is at the top of a small cat tree (about 3 feet high) with a window view. Racquel plays in short spurts with wand toys and will occasionally swat around a ball or spring toy. When playing with wand toys she will start out jumping after the wand toy and then goes into hunt/stalk/pounce mode, she is a smart kitty!

Meet Tim Mcpaw! This gentle and loving cat started his life on the streets and was intuitive enough to seek help in the yard of a cat lover. After being rescued he fully embraced the good life of a pampered house cat with open paws. He simply adores receiving massages and basking in the undivided attention of his human companions. Tim is easily entertained by looking at the birds and squirrels through windows, cat tv is his favorite hobby! He enjoys zoomies up and down a staircase and loves some quality play time with a wand toy! 🪩 Adoption Story 🪩 Make way for two of the biggest female pop stars in the world: Lady Gaga and Stefani (now hiding from the paparazzi under their new names Autumn and Spritz). These besties were full of energy, sweetness, and STAR POWER! Spritz, the little orange tabby, was fun and playful. Born with just one front paw, Spritz navigated the world with grace and ease. Nothing slowed down this girl! When the mood striked, she loved to lounge on laps or snuggle with her sissy Autumn. Autumn was a glamorous calico kitty who matched her sister Spritz in energy and charm. She loved humans, often bumping her head against hands or legs to ask for pets. She also loved napping when she wasn’t out making friends and performing for her many fans!

Deb was looking for two loving and sweet cats to join their empty nest. They were huge fans of both orange tabbies and calicos and when they saw that the girls were a bonded pair that matched exactly what they were envisioning, they were super excited to meet the stars! Deb called this the “easiest transition of new pets ever!”. She loves their energy and zoomies. Autumn continues to love on her humans, while her sissy Spritz flops and asks for belly rubs. We are halfway to our fundraising goal for Torch! He continues to be a tremendous fighter and every day as he improves we are more and more certain he is going to beat this! His energy levels are typical for a kitten his age (2.5 months old) and he is responding well to the protocols in place for his recovery. 🌺Adoption Story 🌺Kailani, nicknamed Kai, was a gorgeous orange and white ginger kitty. She was super soft, super sweet, and loved the quiet indoor cat life. The only thing cuter than the white stripe on her nose was her giant plume of a tail! She loved to be pet, relax in her favorite spots, and snuggle with her favorite humans. Kai was a low-key kitty who would love to live in a quiet house.

Emily was excited to find the purrfect kitty that would make her become a first-time cat mom! She wanted a sweet, affectionate cat that could also entertain themselves while she worked as a nurse. She visited Kai after she had just moved into the lounge and after meeting her, sent us this message, “Hello! I'm writing you as I get into the car…I have fallen in love with her already and would love to adopt her!! Let me know what next steps look like :)”. Yay! Kai moved in and began exploring everything, leaving no area unturned. She even scoped out the top of the fridge and the counters! Kai and Emily love each other already! We are happy to celebrate Adoption #1532!

Brave little Torch needs your help to beat Panleukopenia and Pneumonia. His foster noticed that his normally bright light was fading and he was rushed to the ER where he received critical care including IV fluids, oxygen chamber therapy, radiographs, and antibiotics among other medical interventions. Torch has just been released from the hospital and is being cared for in a foster home where he requires 24/7 care. He is eating and perking up but these are serious conditions for a little kitten and he is not out of the woods, please keep him in your thoughts. Currently his medical bills exceed $7,000 and we are asking for your help to cover the amount needed to save him.

Barry is the ultimate lover boy and an Olympic-level cuddler. This charming Tabby is a laid-back and chill guy who adores nothing more than snuggling up for pets and cuddles, or relaxing on the couch. His affectionate nature knows no bounds, and he'll melt your heart with his gentle purrs and soulful eyes. He is the perfect hunky dude to binge Love Island or chill with while you game, just don't forget to include him in the fun! Barry is 6, FIV+ and is hoping to meet his BFF soon!

🩷Adoption Story🩷 Little Bisaan was a dainty lady looking for a new family to call her own. Easygoing, loving, and playful, Bisaan was a true prize for any cat lover! Bisaan lived her first year of life being pampered and cherished in her home, but sadly, her owner passed away, leaving Bisaan to find a new start. She was scared without her favorite human and seemed shy at first, but when she had time to adjust, Bisaan showed her sweet and adorable nature!

Saad was looking for the lucky kitty that would turn him into a first-time cat dad! He visited the Dancing Cat and was immediately drawn to the little adorable tabby. Saad was very thoughtful in considering what type of cat would fit best in his lifestyle, but Bisaan was the lucky lady! Saad says it has been a lot of fun sharing his home with Bisaan. She loves to snuggle up with him next to the couch, entertain him with zoomies, and get her pictures and videos shared on her very own Instagram account! Congratulations to Saad and Bisaan, Adoption #1507!

😎Adoption Story 😎 Eesha and Joel were two bonded kitties that found each other when they lived in a foster house together! Tabby Joel and all-black Eesha were both former strays who were looking to live the good indoor cat life. In their foster home, they became quick besties, chasing each other, playing, and indulging in action-packed fun. The two could keep each other occupied and entertained for hours (and humans loved watching their kitty shows too, of course!) Joel was also a master of snuggles, who loved to get his tabby cheeks rubbed and settled down into a human lap. Eesha was a true cat’s cat who loved the companionship of other cats, but most of all, she loved Joel. This black cutie was HIGH-ENERGY and loved to play!

Couple Jill and Chris were excited to find the purrfect pair of bonded cats to join their family. They loved Joel’s handsome stripes and Eesha’s dark fur. When they went to a meet and greet at Joel and Eesha’s foster home, the kitties put on a show, playing with a laser and sniffing their potential new parents. Jill and Chris loved them! The duo moved into their new home and are so happy to be continuing their kitty life together. Their new mom said they are adorable together, snuggling in their tree, playing, and wrestling! Kittens that are being lovingly fostered through The Dancing Cat will be onsite at Petco in Mountain View on Saturday, July 20th. Dozens of adorable kittens ranging in age from 2 to 6 months will be available to meet during our adoption fair from 12:00pm to 2pm. The Dancing Cat is a 501(c)(3) non-profit cat rescue organization dedicated to finding wonderful homes for adoptable cats and kittens. Please share this post and help us spread the word!

All kittens are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and dewormed/deflead. Most are in bonded pairs and must be adopted with their buddy. 🖤Adoption Story 🖤The handsome Magnus was left at the front door of The Dancing Cat one mysterious morning. We estimated that he was about two years old and although we don’t know what his first two years of life held for him, we can guess it wasn’t picture perfect. When he was taken to the vet, they discovered he had a BB gun bullet in his neck. Magnus was unneutered and his floofy black fur was matted. But as the newest dancing cat, he was in good hands and was pampered and treated quickly. His long, beautiful dark hair gave him a regal look and upon closer inspection, he was discovered to be a PARTY ANIMAL! Magnus loved to play with toys and he didn’t discriminate; this fun-loving guy liked lasers, balls, wands, and more.

Shelby, Frankie, and their two young children saw Magnus online and thought his playful personality would fit in well in their active household. They also thought he might be a good buddy for their dog, Shea. Shea liked cats and missed her little cat sibling who recently passed away. Magnus adjusted quickly, exploring the house and his new humans’ laps. His family says he is very loving, playful, and sweet. We are thrilled to celebrate Adoption #1504!
