No cost for kids 18 and younger and enrolled students up to 21 years old with disabilities. Child must be present for meals.

🍏Carmen is a Child Nutrition Director/Administrator and in her role at Region One ESC she assisted 46 school districts in areas of compliance, financial management, and procurement.
🍏Habraham works creating and implementing a district-wide Farm to School program for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD.
🍏Bella is the Program Director at the Institute of Ecology, Scholarship, and Health, she oversees key initiatives like the Verdant Exchange and the annual Food Summit.
🍏Allen is the Director of Educational Habitat, Landscaping & Gardens at Region One ESC and has helped design and build "Outdoor Learning" at 34 Schools within 4 School Districts.

Thank you for promoting our Farm to School program by providing our students with the opportunity of seeing and eating fresh fruits and vegetables.
Local Kale and Cabbage Salad 🥗
Did you know that for the month of March we served locally grown vegetables as part of our Farm to School program. Highschool students had the opportunity to try our local kale and cabbage salad, topped with Craisins (Dried cranberries) and low fat dressing.
The kale and cabbage where grown in the RGV by local farmers and processed fresh at our cafeteria. Thank you CNP staff for helping provide fresh produce and creating amazing salad art in the process.
Local produce served in March included: celery, green & red cabbage, tomatoes, and kale.

Farm to School Kale Smoothie 🥤
Students at Jesus "Jesse" Vela, Jr. Middle School (formerly Alamo Middle School) harvested Kale from the Outdoor Learning Space's garden and made smoothies.
With just 4 ingredients (Kale🌿, Pineapple juice🍍, Greek Yogurt, Ice🧊) students where able to taste for the first time Kale in a fun and refreshing way. The goal of our Farm to School program is to enable students to grow, harvest, cook, and eat new fruits vegetables that come from a sustainable school garden.
Thank you, Henry Ford students for making 'Thank You' cards for our cafeteria staff.
CNP is blessed to have wonderful cafeteria staff in all our kitchens that help create bright minds by providing healthy and nutritious meals everyday.

Join us for the 3rd annual Farm to School Market on Friday, November 10 hosted at Palacios Elementary! Berta Palacios Elementary and Cesar Chavez Elementary have joined forces to bring you performances by their Folklorico, Cheer, and Choir. The RGV Food Bank will also be giving away bags of food. Come on out to support the clubs and students at the market!
Check out our efforts in our Farm to School initiative as we continue to teach the future stewards of the land the benefits of growing and eating fresh fruits and vegetables.
