Our PSJA ISD Administration has been closely monitoring the weather.
To ensure the health and safety of our students and staff, all PSJA ISD schools and facilities will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 and Thursday, June 20, 2024.
All scheduled summer programs and activities will resume on regular schedule on Monday, June 24, 2024.
Should there be any updates or changes, parents and staff will be notified through our mass notification system, website, and social media outlets.

Congratulations to our Secondary rockstar teachers, Tiffany Galaviz/Ruth Zamarripa at Liberty Middle School, Miguel Maynez at PSJA ECHS, and Carlos Vega at Audie Murphy MS. πππ» These teachers are Rockstars at implementing the curriculum, benchmarks, checkpoints and observation profiles at their respective campuses. Did you know? Our PSJA Special Education Department is known for providing great support systems for students diagnosed on the spectrum. Additionally, district social workers and teachers collaborate with parents to provide the best learning atmosphere for all students at PSJA ISD.

Our Mission
The mission of PSJA's Special Education Program is to ensure students with disabilities are educated with non-disabled peers in the least restrictive environment determined under each of their Individual Education Plans.
Students who need special education services to progress in school include those with learning disabilities, speech impairments, physical and intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism, traumatic brain injury and visual & hearing impairments.
Services are available to students beginning on their 3rd birthday, and to students who have not reached their 22nd birthday as of September 1st of the current school year. Students with visual or hearing impairments may receive special education services starting at birth, up through their 22nd birthday.
Department Goals:
Ensure a Free Appropriate Public Education in the least restrictive environment.
Ensure the rights of students with disabilities and their parents are protected.
Assess and ensure program effectiveness of the district's efforts to educate students.
