Come and join us celebrate our students milestone at our ELO - KIPP Summer Enrichment Program Festival, tomorrow Friday, July 28, 2023 at the San Lorenzo Community Park (Duck Pond). Bring your picnic chairs and blankets and watch our students performances, visit our booths and join us for arts and crafts. Local food vendors will be Open at 12nn for lunch. It's time to gear up for our Spring Recital. We are so excited to watch all our students hard work for the past 6 months and celebrate their growth.

Sweets for a Cause! Thanks to Krispie Kream, parents, sponsors, our board members for helping with our fundraiser. We were able to raise $500 to help with some students who maybe facing financial difficulties. It was nice to hang out, get our coffee outdoors and chat with parents, teachers and students.

Make Music Not War. 🎶🎶

Staff development for after school program. Attendees were 2 board members, Renee and Marietta, program manager, Daniel, Regine, our deputy director and founder, and Cynthia Nakar, our executive director. Three teachers took part of this exercise. Our after school dance teacher Darrel showed how he teaches the kids hip hop dance. Instead of the kids, we were his students. During the lessons, we gave some tips or directions how they can better manage their lessons and manage difficult kids (some were acting like kids during this exercise). I think the workshop will help our teachers in their classrooms. Here’s a video of our dance teacher.

Krispy Kreme fundraiser is here to help students who are facing financial challenges for their music lessons. Please send your orders by March 15 and pick up will be at the studio, 676 Bockman Road # F, San Lorenzo between 9AM to 12 PM on March 19. Generation Music & Arts Academy also known as Dandan Performing Arts Center is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that produces music, offers private lessons, performance labs, ensemble classes, and workshops. DPAC provides a holistic approach to contemporary music and arts education, with a vision to inspire and empower the youth to become creative and innovative leaders.

We believe that music is a right and should be celebrated in our communities and made accessible to all, regardless of background, socio-economic standing, gender, or race.

We are currently looking for music educators who can teach PIANO, VOICE, VIOLIN, and UKULELE and share the same values with us! An excellent opportunity to TEACH, INSPIRE, MENTOR, and share your knowledge and experience!

Qualification for this position:

1. Model Dandan Performing Arts Center values (check out our website: https://www.dmajorarts.org/)
2. Excellent communicator with students, families, and colleagues
3. Have passion working with children from pre-k to high school and the community
4. Experiences preparing students for performances not only on the stage but for the community
5. Ability to coach students for qualified exams (Certificate of Merit, ABRSM, etc.)
6. Be willing to learn and utilize instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning (i.e., Zoom, Google Meet)
7. Hold (or pursue) a B.A/B.S degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or music-related field from an accredited institution (A Master’s degree is a plus!)
8. Bilingual is a plus! (eg, English/Chinese; English/Spanish)
9. Be able to teach PIANO, VOICE, VIOLIN, or UKULELE (multiple instruments are preferred! )
10. Be willing to work from 3pm to 7pm
