A Loss of Hope...

Loss of hope involves a loss of perspective resulting from a loss of focus. When we disconnect our ambitions, values, and priorities from eternity, we lose focus and perspective.

The remedy for the loss of hope is, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Cor 4:16-18)

On March 29, AD 33, began the most important week of the most important person who ever lived. 1994 years later, the events that occurred during Jesus’ last days still reverberate throughout the ages.

As Jesus hung on the Cross, He spoke seven times, the seven last words of Christ. I can’t think of a better way to reflect on the Cross this Good Friday than to reflect on Jesus’ last words. They are life-changing.

Mending Your Life – Healing Broken and Wounded Hearts...

He will heal all your open wounds, and broken dreams and calm your troubled heart. His peace is not affected by any external changes, and His peace will abide with you.

How precious it is in a world of anxiety, to have the peace that surpasses all human understanding.

If you are broken and undone, lacking peace and comfort, all you have to do is surrender your heart to Him. He will accept you with all your imperfections.

Powerful is your Redeemer’s mercy. God will take that which is undone in your life and mend it together!

Purpose places you on a collision course with people not consciously looking for you! Purpose chooses your covenant relationship!

When I understand what it means for me to be created in God’s image, I have a new idea of my value!

The love of God is far greater than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star and reaches the lowest hell!

Acts of kindness have the potential to powerfully impact others.

WIN them with kindness, not KILL them with kindness.

Anger without restraint and Divine boundaries is one letter away from D-anger.

Willing...
You cannot force a person to love; otherwise, it fails to be genuine, other-focused, Christ-centered love. (John 10:18)

Listen With Active Ears...

Every human being is spiritual and desires to talk about spiritual things. An entry door is a key part of their story that they reveal, sometimes unintentionally, this will allow you to advance the conversation deeper in the future.

Love them enough to take the time and make the investment to listen with active ears. "I hear you" are very powerful words. E320

God’s kindness emerges against the backdrop of our sin. To be Christian is to be people distinguished by kindness!

Valentinus- The Back Story!

Today is "Valentine's Day." Many overlook or don't know the origin of Valentine's Day and assume it is just a day to celebrate love.

The name Valentine is derived from the Latin word "Valens" which means worthy, strong, or powerful.

Valentinus was the name of a man who lived in Rome during the reign of Claudius II. It was a time when Christians were being persecuted.

Valentinus was not a Christian, but history records how he was willing to help them. Valentinus was caught and put into prison. In prison, he became a believer in Jesus. While he was in prison, he sent messages to his friends saying, “Remember your Valentine!” and “I love you.”

The story gets ugly because his newfound faith led to Valentinus being sentenced to death.

Today, celebrate the greatest love of all, God's love for you! "In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." (1 John 4:10)

Think Deeply On These Words: “He humbled Himself.” (Phil 2:8)

A lack of humility destroys a person's spiritual life; it damages the deepest and most important relationships in life, especially spiritual ones!

The love of God is free, spontaneous, unrevoked, and uncaused. God loves people because He has chosen to love them. (Deut 7:7-8)

The personal greatness of love takes on powerful significance when we realize that God IS love.

Faith is not just something you do with your brain; faith is a transaction of your heart that changes the way you live your life!

Love Is The First- Listed Fruit of the Spirit...

"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness," (Gal 5:22).

If you are walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, love will manifest itself clearly in your life!

All The Days Ordained For Me...

As I review Psalm 139. Some of the days ordained for me in this world are painfully difficult. The Psalm gives me the perspective I need.

"...All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:13-16)

God not only knows and is present, He’s the Creator. Think about it. The Psalm presents God as One who is near and intimately knowledgeable of our lives.

He is presented as the author of life – as the one who fashions life in the womb and ordains the number of days planned for us! Trust Him, He's got you. E320

Unknowable- Unfathomable...

No matter how much we think we know, we will never know the depth of His love. It's unknowable.

Throughout eternity we will never come to the place of saying that we know all that there is to know of His great love for us. The measurements (Eph 3:18-19) that Paul gives emphasize the immensity of His love.

You can go left or right, forward or backward, or up or down as far as you can, and you still haven’t explored all that there is to know of Jesus' great love!

I Just Don't Understand What The Bible Says?...

“I just don’t understand what the Bible says most of the time,” said my friend. My response was, "Well buddy, focus on what you do understand, and don’t worry about what you don’t understand. God isn’t going to hold you accountable for what you don’t get; only what you do get."

GOD IS WILLING TO DO FAR BEYOND WHAT WE ASK OR THINK BECAUSE HE IS GOOD! E320

When We Are Unable To Do Anything...

God's power is seen in His working when we are unable to do anything.

The whole point of prayer is to ask God to do what we cannot do in our own strength or ability. If we think (foolishly) that we can pull it off ourselves, then we don’t need to pray.

God often puts His people in impossible situations to display His power and glory. "Unto to Him who is able!" E320

The Obstacle To Change- Anger…

One of the greatest hindrances to change and freedom is an angry heart! This anger is a major obstacle to overcoming past resentments.

Too many of us are harboring silent fury over things that hurt us. To be free from its grip, we must come to terms with any resentment we carry.

ANGER is only one letter away from DANGER!

Stop while you’re ahead!

Pastor, tonight you are on my heart in a heavy way. I am dedicating the evening to praying for you, as you share God’s love and grace with those who gather with you. Remember Jesus left the 99 for the one. May God show you the one He sent to you.

You are NEVER alone! I am holding your arms up tonight.

Why Relationships Aren’t Fixed Overnight

Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t just make your relationships better overnight?

In reality, a difficult relationship is a mark of His love and care. We would prefer that God would just change the relationship, but He won’t be content until the relationship changes us too.

This is how God created relationships to function.

What happens in the messiness of relationships is that our hearts are revealed, our weaknesses are exposed, and we start coming to the end of ourselves.

Only when this happens do we reach out for the help God alone can provide. Weak and needy people finding their hope in His grace are what mark a mature relationship.

The fact that our relationships work as well as they do is a sure sign of grace!
