Huge thanks to everyone who supported us by donating recyclable bottles and cans. Your generosity made this possible! Way to go Taft Student Council! 🎉👏

🎉 Last August, our staff kicked off the school year with Thinking Maps, and the results are amazing! 🌟 For some teachers, it was a journey of new learning, while for others, it was a refreshing dive into strategies we’ve cherished over the years. 💡 Check out this Tree Map example: With the guidance of our mild-moderate teacher, Mrs. Azvedo, students categorized things leprechauns can do, that they have, and what makes them lucky. 🍀 After crafting their Tree Map, students utilized the vocabulary to compose simple yet engaging sentences. 📝 Such visual patterning not only enhances language development, but also strengthens writing skills. 🌳✏️

🐯💫📣 Our Taft Elementary team is excited to participate in the SAUSD Partners in Advocacy, Teaching and Hands-on Learning (PATH) Resource Fair to share information about our Regional Deaf and Hard of Hearing program. 🤟🏼📚

🌱 Exciting visit from Mr. Moises to Mrs. Terhune’s kindergarten class! 📚 They learned about the Native American story of The Three Sisters, discovering how corn, beans, and squash support each other to thrive and nourish people year-round. 🌽🌱🍅 Taking their learning beyond the classroom, they explored our Taft garden, embracing hands-on farm-to-school education. 🌿 🍎

📚 Today, we celebrated Read Across America with immense joy! 🎉 It was a delight to have parents of our DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) students join us in the classroom to read and share stories. 📖 Their presence and support made this day truly special. Thank you to all who participated! 🌟 🤟🏼 📚
