National Flag Day honors the precious symbol of our nation’s unity, strength, and values. 🇺🇸

1) Thirteen Stripes for Thirteen Colonies: The American flag has 13 stripes, 7 red and 6 white, representing the original 13 colonies that declared independence from Britain and became the first states of this great country.

2) 50 Stars for 50 States: There are 50 stars on the flag, one for each state in the country. The stars are white and arranged on a blue field, known as the "union."

3) Designed by a Teenager: The current design of the American flag, with 50 stars, was created by a 17-year-old student named Robert G. Heft in 1958 as part of a school project. This is a new monthly group that is meant to inspire creativity.🤗

It isn't like a class where you turn in assignments. Participants get out of it what they are able to put in. The class will meet, we will say "Hello", depending on the size we might mention what we are going to create or work on, then we will spend 40 minutes or so working.

Participants can have their cameras on or off. In the last 15-20 minutes you can share what we've done or not. There's no right or wrong. This is all very person-centered and focused on respecting the individual needs of all participants.😀👍

From 10am-1pm on May 26th, the Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest will be hosting a special session to allow our friends with physical disabilities to try out skateboarding! On top of providing a safe and welcoming beginner environment, this FREE event will feature adaptive riders from all over California riding the impressive skatepark terrain. 🛼

Pizza will be served up and there will even be a limited supply of equipment available for those who don’t have their own! NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED, but participants will have to fill out a quick waiver onsite before they can ride (parent/legal guardians MUST sign waivers here in person for any children under 18).
