Today feels like it should be Friday! This weekend was fun with all the soccer, hockey and best of all, family in town.

I needed a reset but instead I hit the ground running this morning with a 5th grade field trip. Also fun but.. 🤪

Anyway… how adorable is this family!! 😍

Anyone out there lean more towards b&w images? For me it definitely depends on the image. I love a good black and white portrait, I think it simplifies the story being told which in turn can be more powerful.

I love the flowers and the green fields in the spring but the golden fall brush and light is pretty magical!

I really like to lean into lifestyle portraits. Families just being and interacting naturally is definitely what’s trending.
A lot photographers refer to “smile and look at the camera” as Grandma Shots. You get those one or two shots for grandma and the Christmas card.

I do agree that they don’t tell much of a story but man do I love a direct connection between the person and the lens.
It’s not always easy but the sweet spot is when photography feels like a collaboration between the camera and its subject.
