The premiere of "Sanctuary" was a smashing success and we are thrilled to share it with all of you. Watch it here: https://shadowsfund.org/sheltering-oak-sanctuary-2/
Read on for an exciting announcement . . .
On Sunday we debuted "Sanctuary", Deon Nel's beautiful short film telling the story of our journey. After the film we shared how much we are struggling.
But we don't let fear drive our decisions and we certainly don't let it stop us. The animals who have found their home at the sanctuary depend on us. Those yet to come need for us to always be here for them.
At our benefit screening Sunday we announced the kick off of "Sustaining the Promise" our Capital Campaign to pay off our mortgage so that we never have to worry about losing the sanctuary.
I am excited to announce that a very generous donor approached us at the event and offered a matching gift of $100,000! You read that right. If we can raise $100,000 they will match it! We have to raise a little over $400,000 to pay off the mortgage.
What you can do:
1. Share this post everywhere
2. Watch our movie and then share it
You will find information there on how you can make a donation to support the sanctuary, as well as information on our Capital Campaign when you watch the movie.
We need your help today with everyday costs of food, vet bills, the costs to run the sanctuary. But if you or someone you know is able to make a donation of $1000 or more, please consider contributing to our Capital Campaign to help safeguard the future of the sanctuary. Your gift will be doubled! More than that it will help us sustain the promise of hope for those who need it the most. https://shadowsfund.org/sustaining-the-promise/
On behalf of every animal who was thrown away, written off, forgotten, misunderstood and needed us to be there for them, thank you!

Check your pups throughly!
HIGH DANGER -- FOXTAILS!
As you can see in this picture of foxtails, the seed has a sharp end that can easily jab into the skin and create a puncture wound. Because the seed is sleek, it can slide deeper into the tissue without much difficulty and is hard to remove. Foxtails can easily pe*****te a dog’s skin or burrow into places like the nose, ears, eyes, and paws.
Check your pet's belly, ears, face, legs, and between their toes when they are outside so you can remove foxtails BEFORE they create a problem!
