Hurry! Space is limited!
Sometimes if you want a good workout you have to get your hands dirty.
Don’t mind me, just admiring my latest gym acquisitions… birthday kettlebell from the lovely and my sweet barre for ballet lessons with the ever-talented !
Happy 4th from Catalina Island! I celebrated with a 9 mile hike! Somehow I avoided sunburn!
Hello old friend…
When you think of 52, you may think of: a deck of cards, weeks in a year. Well today I ran 52 rounds of stairs at La Playa Stadium. That’s 4368 steps and almost 2500ft of vertical climb. And together we raised over $3000 for the ! I am so thankful for everyone’s love, support, motivation and donations to make this all possible. Thank you for giving me a great belated birthday- it was such a fun evening! (Well, when I was finished.) 😂
Tomorrow's the day, folks! I'll be climbing at least 50 rounds at La Playa Stadium to raise money for the Grace Fisher Foundation! (It will also be a belated birthday celebration.)
If you're local, come and cheer me on! And no matter where you live, will you please sponsor my climb? I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo close to my fundraising goal it's crazy--I just need a few more people to donate! Please please pretty please?
If you come and cheer me on, meet me at the stadium at 5:15. I'll finish around 7pm--drinks, dinner and cake at Shoreline Cafe immediately after!

I was in Tahiti last week for my stepdaughter’s wedding. Sadly, I have no photos of said wedding because we were asked not to take any. And I hate taking photos anyway. So here is a subset of the few photos I have of the trip. I tried to live my best life; how’d I do?
Hi there, everyone. So, the bad news: I still very much have Covid and I will have to postpone my birthday climb.
The good news: Now you have two more weeks to sign up to sponsor me for the big day! Go to https://www.janereactionfitness.com/classes-and-events/jane-birthday-stair-climb
and pledge a dollar amount per round (or just a lump sum, I'm not fussy). I'm SOOO CLOSE to my fundraising goal!
PLOT TWIST! The weekend before my epic stair climb I got sick; I’ve been in bed for most of the last four days. Today however, I was feeling on the mend and went for a six mile walk up the canyon. Only 800ft elevation gain, but I felt alright and it was a nice view from the top.
Will I survive 50 rounds of stairs on Thursday?… The drama! The suspense!
I love fitness. My sister loves fitness. Put us together and this is what our weekend looks like:
Aqua workout/swim at UCSB
21 mile bike ride around Montecito/ Santa Barbara
7 mile hike (with 2500ft elevation gain!)
Strength/HIIT workout
(We got my husband involved too!)
It was such a great time! Love you Seester! ❤️
(And now I sleep…) 😄
Hey there folks! So my birthday is coming up in a month...normally I'd throw a big party and perform some aerial for y'all, but unfortunately that is not in the cards this year.
INSTEAD, to celebrate my next year on this planet, I plan to run the stadium steps at La Playa Stadium at least 50 times. In case you don't know, one flight is 84 steps, or 47.2 feet. So if I hit my goal, that will 4200 steps or a total of 2360 feet of ascent!
My other goal is to have kind folks like you sponsor a dollar amount per round (a "round" is 84 steps up/down) to help raise at least $1000 for the Grace Fisher Foundation!
Would you like to participate? There are three ways to join in:
1) Sponsor me for a dollar amount per round (you can donate as little as a quarter! I plan to do at least 50, maybe up to 55?)
2) Join me on June 6th to cheer me on with high fives or run a lap or two with me
3) Set a goal for yourself, get your own sponsors, and run the stairs with me! You can do solo or form a team. The more the merrier!
After the event, we'll celebrate with dinner and drinks at Shoreline Cafe.
So click on the link to register or pledge money. I hope you can help me reach my goal!
And that’s a wrap on the latest Workout and Wine! We spent an hour exercising with yoga blocks-it was harder than you might think! Afterwards, we chilled with dinner at sunset. Thanks to everyone that came out- it was a lovely evening!
Three-month check in! Doc was super happy with how I’ve healed… in case you’re wondering, the 2nd image shows my tear (the dark section) and the 3rd shows how it’s filled in a bit. Okay, to be honest, I’ll just take his word for it. The important thing? I can TRAIN AGAIN! Weights, aerial, the whole shebang! (Smartly, of course.). I’m so excited for the next chapter in my recovery!
What’s better than a FREE workout? A free workout PLUS dinner and wine!
Join me Wednesday May 1st at 6pm for Workout and Wine. We’ll sweat and then we’ll socialize!

We went to Utah last weekend to celebrate my father-in-law’s 96th birthday! Pretty impressive to say the least. Almost as impressive were the views on our windy hike…
Every wonder how our bodies turn the air we breathe into fuel for our cells? Check out my new blog post and read all about your cardiovascular system! (Hint: it's pretty cool...)
Getting to the Heart (and Lungs) of the Matter: An Intro to the Cardiorespiratory System — Jane Reaction Fitness Every cell in our body uses oxygen for fuel; hence, we need to breathe air to survive. But have you ever wondered how our bodies turn the air that surrounds us into a molecular energy source? Cue up the cardiorespiratory system! The cardiorespiratory system is composed of two main systems: firs
At the end of January, I had a PRP (platelet rich plasma) injection to help heal my torn rotator cuff— and hopefully avoid surgery. After a few weeks to rest, I started up with my “recovery team” and have been working to get myself back up to full strength . Many thanks to my physical therapist Kathy Doubleday at Balance Health Center in Ojai, and to for letting me join her current Freedom to Fly program. Between the two, I’m learning a lot about my shoulder, my body, and how to be a better aerialist. I can’t wait to get back on the silks better than ever before! ❤️
Had the honor of being the lovely ‘s 20th client to practice her stretching mojo on before she finishes her certification at Stretch Lab Montecito. Thanks pretty lady! I’m feeling good right now… time for a nap? 🙂
If you had to list your top five priorities right now, what would they be? Chances are they will include family, work, finances... Why don't you take a minute and think about it... (Don't worry, I can wait.)
Okay, pencils down! Question for you: did your health make the list? If no, why not? I think many people--especially really busy people-- can think that it's selfish or indulgent to make their health a priority. But it's really the opposite--taking care of your health gives you the strength to accomplish all of those other priorities on your list. So I challenge you this next week to do one thing each day to make your health a priority. You can make a nice meal, get some extra sleep, meditate, stretch, workout, etc.
(And if you want to work out with me, check out my YouTube channel for online workouts or my website for local classes!)
I have friends that love to send me what I call "workout p**n": someone with an amazing body doing some cool exercise routine or move. Do I think it's cool? Am I impressed? Yes. Does it inspire me? Ehhh. Seeing the end product always makes me wonder: well, how did you get there? For me, I'm more impressed to see someone do ten pullups if I saw back when they could barely do one. Achieving goals takes hard work, and a lot of times we don't feel like putting in the effort. So seeing someone accomplish something after doing XYZ says, "hey, if I really want to do this too, this is a way to make it happen." Seeing the process puts goals in my grasp, and that's what's really inspiring.
Happy International Women’s Day to all you badasses out there!
So many people get discouraged if they take a class and have trouble with the moves. An old trainer once said (I'm paraphrasing here): "Remember, this is a class. You are here to learn." I think since we're not sitting at a desk and taking notes, we sometimes lose sight of that.
What does learning mean in fitness? It can mean learning a new move or learning proper technique. But it can also mean learning about yourself. What motivates you? What does your body do when it gets tired? How far can you push yourself? Fitness is a journey, so don't focus on an end goal, just keep learning however you can. The process is half the fun!
It was a beautiful evening for a stair run! Got a new personal record too! (35 rounds/53:05)
Have you ever wanted to get your first real pull-up or pushup? Have you ever wanted to fix your posture for better mobility or to move with less pain? I am looking to expand my course offerings (in person and online) and would love to hear from YOU! Please tell me what’s on your mind- click on the link in bio and go to the course offering survey. It takes less than two minutes but would help me out a lot. Thank you! ❤️
I was telling a client about all of my awesome Christmas gifts- new agility ladder, weighted jump rope, kettlebell, battle rope- and she just turned to me and said, “what’s wrong with you?” 🤣🤣🤣
Jane here to say that you should practice more self care this year! (It doesn’t have to look this creepy.)
Happy 2024!
Health and Wellness review, December 26th: out with the old, in with the new! My old helmet was getting pretty old and wasn’t in great shape. So after one last ride, it was time for the new one!
