Question: Why is providing meals so important?
Answer: Meals are foundational to ministry for several reasons. I’ll share two. First, getting a good meal can seem impossible when you are on the streets. Without nourishment, not only are people’s bodies broken down, but their minds also can’t function well, making it difficult to make different, healthier choices.
Secondly, meals are a simple but effective way for us to begin forming relationships with men and women experiencing homelessness. By providing healthy, delicious meals, we show people that we believe they are worthy of being cared for and loved.
We are grateful for our board of directors and their leadership at our Strategic Planning Summit meeting last week. Thankful Thursday!

Our seventeenth annual 4th of July BBQ, Raffle, and Carnival held on the holiday was a great success. The generous support brought immense joy and hope to our community members in need. Our parking lot was transformed into a carnival filled with music, laughter, a dunk tank, games, and a delicious backyard BBQ. Our guests enjoyed grilled burgers, hot dogs, side dishes, and ice cream for dessert, thanks to the hard work of the men in our 12-month Residential Treatment Program. We are deeply grateful for the contributions from our donors, Women’s Auxiliary and Calvary Chapel, who provided their time, resources, and compassion—the photo album provided by Dale Weber.
