Kanai Sensei was a huge influence on Sensei Chris’s early training. He taught a seminar at Aikido of Santa Barbara early on. We miss him and his spectacular aikido very much.

In loving memory of Kanai Sensei, who passed 20 years ago. Kanai Sensei's influence can be seen in his students all over the world, and we will continue to honor his teachings in our practice and in our hearts forever.

What an amazing seminar! Over 200 people from at least 31 dojos across the world joined us this weekend on the mat. Thank you for the heart and teaching of Yoko Okamoto Sensei, Steve Pimsler, Sharon Dominguez, Laura Jacobs Pavlick, Hal Lehrman, and Harvey Konigsberg. Congrats to the dan test-takers (photos coming later, all of them passed!), and thank you to all who brought tasty treats to the potluck.
