As promised in my last post, here is a timelapse of the night we went out to shoot the Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS ☄️
It is pretty amazing to be able to capture this, I just wished fewer airplanes were flying in this area 😄
Shout out to Julia Megan Photography who always helps me with camera settings and to Julie Boyd Photography and Michelle Jacquemet Photography for making this night extra special! 🥰
Felt under the weather and thought I’d missed the comet show. 🤒 But a weekend with the amazing PhotoGals changed that! 💫 We chased the Milky Way and caught a glimpse of the elusive Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. ☄️ It may have been a little shy, but we captured it with Venus and the Milky Way in one shot. ✨ What an amazing night! ♥️
Shout out to my dear PhotoGals:

Honorary mention to Amy Enright Medina who couldn’t join us this time and Sarah Star Photography who shot this the night before!
I will separately share a timelapse of the night sky! Stay tuned! 🌌
I haven't posted much recently, so I figured I needed to fix that, so here is a shot I took this year in Costa Rica, on an amazing beach where the sand patterns and light were extraordinary. Hope all is well with you all, cheers!
Friday night adventure! My friends convinced me to chase the Aurora Borealis rumors (who knew you could see it in the Bay Area?!) We dodged fog at the coast and ended up in the hills with a crowd of stargazers (including the amazing Michelle Jacquemet Photography!). So glad I listened - the lights were incredible! ✨
Who else remembers the 2020 holidays? We couldn't visit family in Costa Rica, but on December 26th we decided for a change of scenery! Santa Cruz sunset did not disappoint - fiery skies and fresh ocean air were just what we needed to recharge. ✨
The sun was out and shining bright, I took a lot of pictures and then decided to get into the water then some clouds rolled in and covered the sun creating softer more beautiful light, so I rushed back out and started shooting again, decided to take long exposures to smooth out the water and I am very happy with the results. Let me know what you think of this shot in the comments.
We had the good fortune to witness the Yosemite National Park Firefall in 2021. This is a closer look at the view from the first day, which I already shared in a few images. The sight of clouds circling El Capitan was quite amazing.
Patterns and colors from nature, taken in my beautiful Costa Rica.
Warmth and tranquility! The vast and expansive beaches on Costa Rica's South Pacific coast are filled with interesting features, such patterns in the sand that I found really fascinating. There are rocks on this Dominicalito beach that form puddles and sand ripples that change color at sunset into breathtaking hues.
This view allows you to enjoy both the higher and lower falls at Nauyaca Falls. It was really sunny and there weren't many people around when I took this early morning. For you to see the water's force, I didn't use a longer exposure. I'll be sharing another photo I took using a longer exposure to give other perspectives. Have fun!
Gorgeous sunsets over immaculate beaches. I had the opportunity to visit several beaches in the Pacific Ocean south of Costa Rica. They were long and stunning beaches where the clouds were reflected and with amazing patterns in the sand.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Costa Rica for a short while. My spouse and I traveled to the Pacific South and had the opportunity to see the stunning Nauyaca waterfall, which has long been on my travel wish list. The trip was fantastic. This picture was taken at the Upper Falls of Nauyaca; the vista was quite breathtaking. I'll soon be posting more pictures and videos of the visit to Nauyaca and Costa Rica, stay tuned!
Oropendolas - Took these photos two years ago during our holiday trip to Costa Rica. They have beautiful colors and can be very noisy too.
While visiting Moorea, I enjoyed this lovely sunset. The beach was stunning, and I loved how the sun was setting behind the mountains and how the sailboats were arranged in a line to witness the sunset.
In August, I visited Seattle to go shoot the Perseids meteor shower with my dear friends Julie Boyd Photography and Julia Megan Photography. I already shared a shot from the first night, we didn't get to see a lot of meteors that night since a few clouds rolled in and decided to stay. The second night we went to a different location where the reflections of Mt. Rainier were incredible. That night we enjoyed many meteors and a great view of the stars. Here is my shot from that night with 30 meteors and if you look closely you will see the Big Dipper and Andromeda too, I hope you like it!
For the curious ones, these are some of the details about how I composed this shot in post-processing:
- For the sky, I stacked 20 frames using StarryLandscapeStacker, then created a different stack for the reflections to reduce noise.
- Then in Photoshop I blended the stacked images with a blue hour shot.
- Then I masked in 30 meteors and their reflections from 30 different other frames.
- Finally, I apply some final adjustments.
This is the image I have spent the most hours on ever, it was my first time creating an image like this and I am happy with the result.
Remember the Yosemite Three Brothers photo I shared recently? This is the sunrise I took that same day before heading to Three Brothers. I have previously shared a view of the sunrise during blue hour, but this was when the sun was coming out and the light started to turn golden, we were definitely fortunate that morning!
Special thanks to my nephew .fonseca14 who got up early with me to go shoot sunrise 🥰
Two years ago, I had the pleasure of going to the Eastern Sierra with my Julie Boyd Photography and Julia Megan Photography, on the last day we were blessed with a snowstorm. In the morning we went to catch the sunrise from Hot Creek, as we were leaving we stopped to shoot at the mountains, the view from the peaks was spectacular, and we didn't want to leave.
I took this picture in spring of last year. We got up early to photograph the sunrise at Tunnel View, which was stunning. However, we later decided to head to Three Brothers to capture the morning light. We arrived just in time to see the light gently warming the peaks, creating the ideal reflections! All in all, we had a great morning!
Sunset view from our house in Moorea, a calm evening, perfect for relaxing.
While on Moorea Island, I didn't have much opportunity to do photography, but on this particular day, I brought along my camera, the sunset was stunning, and we were at one of the island's most picturesque beaches—where the mountain range is just breathtaking!
Great day in Big Sur; the light, the waves, and the rock formations were all quite striking.
Morning light in the Teton!
I traveled to Seattle last month to meet up with some of my PhotoGals friends so we could photograph the Perseid meteor shower. The first night's location was spectacular and we were the only ones there. Unfortunately, several clouds rolled in and we missed many meteors, one cloud sat in one spot for hours, hiding much of the Milky Way. Even so, I'm pleased with this image since I managed to get a portion of the Milky Way and a few meteors, which is more than I've ever managed to capture.
Thanks again to Julie Boyd Photography for finding this amazing spot and to Julia Megan Photography for sharing her wisdom when shooting the night sky.
One incredible sunset, not because the colors were spectacular or because the sunset was in Yosemite. It was fantastic because I got to shoot it on a weekend I spent with my PhotoGals friends, what a great gift! 🥰
