Here are some pictures of our refreshed Walnut Ave Cafe dining room. Fresh coat of paint, new chairs and tables, new quartz countertops and new counter stools. The restroom got a makeover too and new flooring. We hope you will enjoy the simple clean new look and like always, thank you so much for your support.

Molly Shannon was visiting Santa Cruz and stopped for a bite at the Walnut Avenue Cafe.

We have some exciting news to share with you all. Your favorite cafe is about to get a fresh new look.

Starting Saturday Sept. 30, we will be temporary closing our doors for renovation and reopening on Saturday Oct. 21.

While we'll miss seeing your smiling faces during this short break, we can't wait to welcome you back to a freshen up Walnut Avenue Cafe very soon.

We appreciate understanding and support during this renovation period. Your love and loyalty mean the world to us and we can't wait to serve you again.

The Walnut Avenue Cafe is great for Brunch and is just a 15-minute walk down the hill Downtown! We love the French toast and Huevos Rancheros! Get there early to avoid the crowd.

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our angel Martha on Friday July 30th. Martha was the kindest, sweetest and most caring person to have blessed the lives of her fellow employees and the many customers who she would consider her friends and family.

A life so beautiful deserves to be beautifully remembered. The Hargens family would love to hear your stories or memories of Martha.

Dear friends,
Our angel of the Walnut, Martha Hargens has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer and has been battling since February.
Many loyal customers know of Martha’s kind and warm spirit and her beautiful smile.

It is with much sadness that the cancer has taken it’s toll and Martha will no longer be receiving treatment.

The Hargens family has had some unexpected issues with insurance and some unforeseen expenses and would greatly appreciate any financial help.
