Caring for people with fentanyl addiction often means treating terrible wounds The fentanyl-additive Xylazine causes open wounds, making the illegal drug supply even more dangerous and treatment more complicated
Hi , I only live here for another week...who else thinks that looks like a terrible decision!
I am actively seeking adult men who would be interested in joining a group for men who are dealing with substance abuse/addiction-related challenges. The group is open to BOTH men who are abstinent from their drug of "choice", as well as to men who are working on moderation, harm reduction, etc. It meets once weekly, online, and on Thursday evenings, from 6:30pm-8pm. The group runs in 6 week "cycles" but members are welcome to continue on into the next "cycle" if they would like to. I am credentialed in both IL and NM, for IL in-network with the following insurance plans: BCBS-PPO, BCBS-PPO-Blue Choice, Cigna, Aetna and Medicare, for NM, in-network with: United Health, Cigna, Aetna and Medicare. If paying out-of-pocket, it is $40 per/group.
If you know of any clients that may be interested in a group like this, please feel free to pass along my information to them. I'd also greatly appreciate it if you would share this information with your colleagues. The next group cycle will start on Thursday 04/13/23 from 6:30pm-8pm.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, My phone is: 312.388.0901, E-mail: [email protected]

Though I do believe that addiction is still a disease, I DO agree with many of Dr. Fisher's ideas: "THAT THE PATIENT IS IN CHARGE", and "MEETING THE PATIENT WHERE THEY ARE". Who are we to define what treatment someone needs?

'The Urge' says calling addiction a disease is misleading A psychiatrist says calling it a disease takes important attention away from racism and other things that are often associated with addiction.
