Santa Rosa-raised artist hopes to create endowed SRJC scholarship for those who need it
EOPS, Bear Cub Scholars, MESA & HOPE staff delivered 50 hot Thanksgiving meals to Bear Cub Scholar students throughout Sonoma County. The meals were donated by IBEW Local 551, who have donated meals to our students since 2020.

Thank you Impact 100 Redwood Circle for selecting the Santa Rosa Junior College Second Chance Program for a 2023 Community Impact Grant! Second Chance is a student support program for formerly incarcerated students providing academic, career, and personal counseling in a non-judgmental, supportive environment to help students turn their lives around. Jessy Paisley, SRJC Second Chance counselor, accepted the check on behalf of the students. We are grateful for the support of the community to help these students get a second chance!

Dr. Maria Angélica Garcia was selected as the sixth Superintendent/President of Santa Rosa Junior College by the Board of Trustees.
Dr. Garcia comes to us from Berkeley City College, where she has served as president since 2020. She is an equity-minded educational leader who is passionate about issues of access, equity, and student success in higher education. Dr. Garcia’s employment with Santa Rosa Junior College will begin on July 1, 2023.

Last week our executive director J Mullineaux joined interim vice president of student services Robert Ethington and SRJC president Dr. Frank Chong to lead Alena Wall of Kaiser Permanente on a tour of the progress on our new student housing building, a project made possible by a grant from Kaiser Permanente Northern California. They were brave enough to take this photo from the rooftop five stories up! We are excited to open the building and welcome students to their new home on campus this fall.
