Lobby hours are M-F from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, excluding holidays.
There is still plenty of time and spaces available to sign up for the Metro Citizen's Police Academy. You will learn about police training, procedures and philosophy through a hands-on classroom experience. The class runs every Thursday for 10 consecutive weeks starting September 5th at 6:00 p.m. A meal will also be included. Sign up with the by scanning the QR Code in the photo.

July 31st
• 3:08 PM. Fraud. Officers were called to a fraud complaint. The victim reported they saw a party post tickets for Taylor Swift on Facebook. When the victim contacted the party about the tickets, they were asked to send $1600 through PayPal for the tickets. The victim says they still haven’t received the tickets and now can’t get ahold of the selling party. Officers are working to try and trace the source of both accounts.
Aug 1st
• 7:51 PM. Suspicious Activity. Riverside AV N. Officers were dispatched to an exposure call at Watab Park. Officers located a vehicle with two occupants inside. They admitted to fooling around and thought they weren’t being seen. They were given a verbal warning for their activity and asked to leave.
Aug 2nd
• 11:48 PM. Crash. Pinecone RD / 17 St N. Officers were dispatched to a crash with injuries. Officers arrived on scene and could see a light pole down and a small red car in the ditch. The driver stated they had hurt their head, neck and arm. The driver stated the accelerator got stuck on the vehicle causing the vehicle to jump the curb and strike the light pole. Mayo arrived and officers assisted in getting the driver into the ambulance. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Aug 4th
• 12:15 PM. Theft. Cypress Cir. Officers responded to a theft report. The complainant stated their rear license plate was stolen or missing. The caller stated they were unsure when or where they would have been taken. Officers entered the plate as stolen and advised the owner to get new plates if they were going to be driving the vehicle. No suspects currently.
Aug 7th
• 1:57 PM. Shoplifting. 14 AV E. Officers were dispatched to a shoplifting complaint. The store manager said a male took a grinder tool from the shelf, walked out of the store and drove away. The tool was entered as stolen. Officers were able to use surveillance photos from the business to help identify the suspect and learned the suspect in Sauk Rapids. The suspect was cited for misdemeanor theft.
Aug 11th
• 8:03 PM. Animal Bite. 1 AV N. Officers were called regarding a dog bite. The caller stated their sisters-in-law’s dog was being aggressive and was biting people. The caller stated the last incident at the house was that the dog bit a 1-year-old in the arm but did not break the skin. The caller stated the child did nothing to provoke the dog. Due to the dog not residing in Sartell the incident was just documented.
We received an inquiry about a power outage in Sartell. There is a concentrated outage that has occurred in the area of Pinecone Road North and 7th Street North. Area businesses and residential buildings may be affected. Xcel crews are working to remedy the issue. Thanks!
Thank you to everyone who came out to our first National Night Out event hosted by our Police and Fire Departments! We were able to connect with hundreds of residents at our community center while still stopping by and supporting 18 other neighborhood events throughout the city. A special thank you to the MN DNR Enforcement Division, Stearns County Sheriff's Office, The Waters Church, Sartell Community Center, Minnesota Department of Transportation, Townsquare Media, Kwik Trip, Sam's Club and a great group of volunteers with our senior citizens community. We could not have done it without you!!
We are getting ready for our movie in the park tonight after the National Night Out events. Please bring chairs versus blankets as the ground is still wet from the rainfall last night.
In addition to K9 Kimber, we have another partner K9 joining us for National Night Out! Come out and join us tomorrow!
This has been upgraded to a tornado warning, We are seeing high winds and large hail from the incoming storm please make sure to get indoors and take shelter.
Even if you can’t make it to our National Night Out activities from 5:30 to 8:30 next Tuesday, we will be hosting a free movie night in the park afterwards. We will be playing Zootopia and have free popcorn available too!
Please monitor the incoming weather, we are seeing some strong winds to the west of us.

July 16th
• 1:22 AM. Curfew. Officers were on patrol when they located two juveniles on their bikes at Kwik Trip. The officer talked with them who stated they lived across the bridge and were unaware of curfew. Officers advised them to no longer go out after 11:00 p.m. and they left for home.
July 17th
• 11:38 PM. Fireworks. Perimeter DR. Officers were dispatched to a fireworks complaint. The caller stated someone was throwing fireworks at their house. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area and were unsuccessful in reaching the complainant back.
July 19th
• 10:58 AM. Ordinance Violation. 7 AV N. Officers were dispatched for an ordinance parking complaint. The caller stated a pop-up camper on wood blocks has been parked on the street for several weeks. Officers tried to contact the homeowner but were unsuccessful. The officer left a door hanger explaining why they were there and the 72 hours on street parking ordinance the homeowner was in violation of.
July 20th
• 7:57 PM. Unwanted Person. Twin Rivers CT. Officers responded to an unwanted person call. Officers arrived and found the vehicle in the parking lot. The driver was upset about their menu order and admitted they were angry staff would not help in the drive-thru lane. Officers spoke with management and due to previous issues decided to trespass the driver. The driver was cooperative and while not happy with being trespassed, understood and left.
July 22nd
• 6:07 PM. Property Damage. 8 AV N. Officers were dispatched to a property damage complaint. The homeowner stated that a golf ball had hit the large bay window causing damage to the frame and cracked the window. The victim also pointed out a spot above the garage door that had damage consistent with a golf ball. The homeowner stated they found 3 golf balls in the grass and in the hedges near the damaged window. There are no suspects currently.
July 24th
• 11:43 PM. Traffic Stop. Watab CT. Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle approaching at a speed faster than the posted speed limit. The officer caught up with the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The officer asked the driver why they were going so fast, to which the driver didn’t provide a reason. The driver was issued a citation for speeding.
July 28th
• 5:23 PM. Hazard. 4 AV S / 3 ST S. Officers were called for flooding in the area. Due to the heavy rain that passed through, the storm drains could not keep up. Officers arrived and found a vehicle with its flashes on. The driver stated they were going through the puddle when the vehicle stalled. The officer called for a tow and provided lights until the vehicle cleared.
Sartell Police Department’s K9 Echo to get donation of body armor
Sartell Police Department, MN, K9 Echo will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Echo’s vest is sponsored by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and will be embroidered with the sentiment “Born to Love-Trained to Serve-Loyal Always”. Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and NIJ certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 5,707 vests to K9s in all 50 states at a value of $6.9 million, made possible by both private and corporate donations.
The program is open to U.S. dogs that are at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $985 will sponsor one vest. The Sartell Police Department would like to give a special shoutout to all the area businesses who helped with PAL this summer! You helped create wonderful memories for the youth in our community.
K9 Echo and Officer Grosz recently deployed to a domestic assault call, where the suspect had initially fled the scene. Although the suspect was eventually taken into custody, officers believed he had tried to hide some evidence. One of K9 Echo’s certifications is searching for articles and evidence. He made quick work of locating this handgun that had been concealed in some tall grass and hedges. The suspect was arrested on charges of domestic assault, 2nd degree assault, and felon in possession of a firearm.

July 3rd
• 6:34 PM. Fraud. Officers were notified of a fraud complaint. The victim stated they were contacted by who she thought was her cable provider, offering her a better package for $173.99. The victim stated they provided their bank card information and told the company she was having trouble with her cable box. They told her there was nothing they could do, which is when she felt something was suspicious and stated she was calling the police. She called Spectrum who stated that was not them and to report it to the police. Officers advised the victim to call the bank of the card she used and deactivate it.
July 4th
• 3:18 PM. Matter of Info. 2 AV N. The caller reporter a woman he was having an online relationship with, was blackmailing him and demanding bitcoin or else she would release photos of him. The caller stated while they did send photos of himself, he was not planning to send any money and has blocked all her accounts. Officers were sent pictures of the messages as well as Facebook accounts and passed the information to investigators for further review.
July 6th
• 10:49 AM. Traffic Stop. Riverside AV S. Officers were on routine patrol when they saw a vehicle approach at an accelerated speed. Officers clocked the vehicle going 53 mph in a 30 mph zone. The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who stated they were on their way to the hospital to pick up their son. The driver admitted to speeding and was unable to provide any form of ID or proof of insurance. The driver was cited for speeding, driving after revocation and no proof of insurance.
July 8th
• 6:22 PM. Crash. 15 ST N / Riverside AV N. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection. The driver of the first vehicle was stopped at a stop sign waiting to turn south on Riverside, when its front end was hit but another vehicle attempting to turn onto 15 Street. The driver of the second vehicle stated the sun was in their eyes when they attempted the turn causing the two vehicles to collide. No one was hurt however one of the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
July 13th
• 9:48 PM. Theft. Pinecone RD N. Officers were called to a theft complaint. The complainant stated that sometime during their wedding, the card box was stolen from the venue. There were roughly 100 cards with an unknown amount of money/gift cards. Officers are working with the venue to help determine if surveillance video captured the incident. There are no suspects currently. This is the third theft in a week where someone has taken the card box during a wedding event.
July 15th
• 9:11 AM. Traffic Stop. Riverside Av / Edgewater LN. Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle displaying expired registration. The officer made a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who stated it was their father’s vehicle and they were unaware of the expired registration. The driver was issued a citation for the expired registration and stated they would pass the information to their father to get updated registration.

June 18th to July 1st 2024
June 18th
12:45 PM. Fraud. Officers were notified of a fraud complaint. The victim stated they had their vehicle broken into earlier in the month and had their purse stolen. The victim stated they were notified by the bank that someone cashed out two large checks using the victim’s driver’s license. The total amount was over $5,000.
June 20th
• 4:13 PM. Animal Complaint. Sierra CT. Officers responded to an animal complaint. The caller stated they were walking their dog on the paths behind city hall, when another dog came out of nowhere and started attacking her dog. The caller believed her dog was ok, but it did bite the ear of the other dog. Officers met with the other dog’s owner and talked about the situation. Both dogs were up to date with their vaccinations, and nothing further was needed from officers.
June 22nd
• 11:11 PM. Verbal Dispute. 10 ST N. Officers were dispatched for a verbal between mother and son. Officer’s learned that the son had brought home a new puppy today and it would not stop barking and whining. The mother made a comment that she was going to kill the dog and the son was concerned. Officers spoke with the mother who stated the comments were made in the heat of the moment and wouldn’t act upon it. All parties agreed to stay separated for the evening.
June 27th
• 9:33 PM. Traffic Stop. 2 ST S. Officers were on routine patrol when they saw a vehicle driving with no headlights on. The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver who stated it wasn’t their car and they were not sure how to properly turn on the headlights. While running the driver’s license, the officer learned they had a suspended status. The officer issued a citation for driving after suspension.
June 30th
• 2:35 PM. Burning Complaint. Victory Av. Officers were called to a burning complaint. Officers arrived on scene and saw the fire going. The homeowner was outside with a hose monitoring the fire, which was not that large, just smoky due to burning brush material.
Update: Kaydence has been located. Thank you to everyone who shared this post and assisted.
Update: Isabelle has returned home safely. We are still working to locate Kaydence.
Our investigators continue to work on serval leads to locate and bring Kaydence and Isabelle back to their families but if you have any information that may help, please call.

We also had the opportunity to recognize the service of Police Reserve Lieutenant Todd Akerman. Lt. Akerman has served with our reserve unit for 20 years, volunteering over 8,000 hours of service to our city!! He was selected by the MN Chiefs of Police Association for a meritorious service award for his dedication and selfless service. In turn he was also selected by Chief Silgjord for the Chief’s Commendation medal. Congratulations Lt. Akerman, it’s a well deserved honor!!
We just wrapped up our first week of our Home Alone Safety Course! We still have a few openings for next week's classes if you are interested in sending your child. The class is for ages 8-10 and covers first aid, fire prevention, internet safety and more! You must sign them up through the Sartell Community Education website.
