We had a blast at the Mul-Cha-Tha parade this morning! 🎉 Awesome parade fun with Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Council, Miss Salt River Committee, JTR, and Arizona Diamondbacks Baxter! 🌟
On Wednesday, March 13th, we had a productive meet-up with our tribal council members! We discussed important topics regarding mental health, plans for YRPC, and received valuable leadership advice. Additionally, we had the opportunity to tour our administration offices and tribal chambers. Following this, we received insights from the council support team on the day-to-day operations of our council. We then attended the weekly council meeting in Lehi, where our clerical secretary shadowed the recorder and took part in recording meeting minutes. It was an educational day with our tribal leaders, and we extend our gratitude to the Tribal Council's Support Staff for organizing this opportunity!
🌱🥕🎉 We had the most amazing time celebrating National Nutrition Month with our Community Elders today! 🌟 We started the day by getting our hands in the soil, planting, and harvesting the freshest veggies straight from the garden! 🌿🥦
💧 Then, we got to create our own infused water flavors using fresh fruit. We also had the opportunity to learn some O'odham words as they relate to the garden and enjoyed a nutritious meal with our elders.
A big thanks to Salt River Senior Services- Health and Wellness Division, Salt River Cultural Resources Department - Community Garden Program, SCC's Garden team, SCC’s American Indian Program ( Scottsdale Community College ), and Nutrition Services! 🙌 And major shoutout to Health and Human Services - Public Health's Diabetes Prevention Service for putting on the Nurturing Generations Through the Garden event! Their dedication brought our communities together in the most beautiful way!
Today was all about unity, nourishment, and having a good time. 🌟 Here's to more awesome gatherings! 🌿💖
See you there!
