Our recently completed Rio Verde Country Clubhouse renovation introduces exciting new dining options
for guests. The Box Bar Grille at Rio Verde is a nod to the historic Box Bar Ranch upon which Rio Verde stands today. For a relaxed post-golf beverage or a casual lunch with friends, the Verde Pub offers pubstyle dining in a welcoming atmosphere.

The Sundance Room serves as the venue for a variety of events, accommodating up to 250 guests. This
spacious banquet facility boasts a full bar, removable dance floor, and state-of-the-art audio-visual
equipment. For more intimate gatherings, the Pub offers seating for up to 40 guests, making it the perfect choice for smaller events.

The International Dark Sky Discovery Center (IDSDC) broke ground on its new observatory in Fountain Hills, in sync with the solar eclipse. The new observatory, located at 13001 N La Montana Drive, was designed by SWABACK pllc, and is being built by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.

The multi-functional International Dark Sky Discovery Center (IDSDC) will focus on how dark sky preservation relates not only to astronomy, but also to the well-being of humans, plants, and animals. The non-profit IDSDC will be located in the world’s 17th International Dark Sky Community, Fountain Hills, Arizona. After years of planning the International Dark Sky Discovery Center, we break ground for construction
today, April 8.

The rare solar eclipse event makes for the perfect groundbreaking experience. At 11:20am, the moon
will obscure most of the sun in a solar eclipse that will not return to North America for another 20 years.
Two hundred protective eyewear glasses will be handed out and a specially designed telescope will be in
use to help view this rare solar event. A live DJ playing sci-fi themed music will further add to the celebratory character of this experience.

Spectators are to begin gathering at 10:30am next to Centennial Circle in Fountain Hills, located at 13001
N La Montana Drive. Ample parking is available. Presentations will begin shortly before 11am.
Immediately following the formal ceremony, the eclipse watching party will continue as the eclipse
reaches its maximum effect.
