Cupping is a therapeutic technique that has been used for over 3,000 years. It relieves pain and unblocks energetic stagnation. Swipe Left for more info!

Walter feels pretty lucky every day he gets to come to work, but today feels a little different.
Really loving this weather – and Walter is really loving our mid-day runs!
I try my best to schedule some time between patients in the afternoons every day to sneak in a quick run or workout. It not only feels great, it also provides a welcome mental and emotional escape for a bit so that I can reset and show up centered and refreshed for the rest of the day.
What do you do to stay grounded and prioritize self-care throughout your day?
The most common questions I get asked about acupuncture:
+ "Does it hurt?"
Typically not at all! The experience is different for each patient, but most do not feel the insertions at all, or only feel a tiny pinch or energetic “twitch” for some needles.
+ "What the heck is cupping, and what are those scary-looking red marks?"
Cupping is an ancient natural practice that detoxifies the body and increases circulation. The marks are called “petechia”, and no – they don't hurt!
+ "Can acpuncture treat my ____?"
Acupuncture and the other modalities I use provide healing for many ailments, pain, injuries, and illnesses. If you're struggling with something, send me a DM or an email to schedule a consultation! Chances are, acupuncture can help.
P.S. if you're already a patient who knows how beneficial acupuncture is, share this post with a loved one who could use some acu education 😉
Though popularized for its use as a natural facial rejuvenation tool, Gua Sha offers so many applications and benefits for the entire body.
Used to treat pain and relieve tension, Gua Sha is a form of massage using a smooth flat tool to gently scrape the skin. It soothes chronic muscle and joint pain by increasing circulation at treatment points to reduce inflammation, while also breaking up scar tissue and adhesions in the muscle.
Gua Sha can help you find relief from tension headaches, chronic neck pain, muscle and joint inflammation, and more.
Have you tried gua sha? What questions do you have about it?
Letting you in on one of my top wellness secrets...
Healthy gut = healthy body & mind.
Ok, that's not so secret. But I still see so many people overlook this! If you're going to invest in one good habit this year, make it your gut health. Some fun facts about your gut:
+ your gut is your "second brain" – it helps regulate everything from your hormones and your serotonin production to your sleep and your immune system. Scientists are constantly discovering new ways in which the gut-brain axis affects our bodies.
+ your body contains 38 trillion bacteria, which altogether weigh about the same as your brain – about 3-5 pounds! Most of these microbes live in your gastrointestinal tract, and their health is vital for effective digestive functions.
+ our microbiomes are as diverse as we are – no two are the same. Because they're all so incredibly unique and complex, there is no "one size fits all" approach to optimize your gut health. However, there are some basic tips you can use that can make a big impact.
🥕 eat colorfully - specifically lots of fruits and vegetables
🦠 take a high-quality daily probiotic like
💧 drink plenty of water
❌ reduce your intake of inflammatory foods and drinks like alcohol, sugar, red meat, and refined carbohydrates
What daily efforts do you make to keep your gut happy and healthy?
Figured with a new rebrand, I should probably re-introduce myself. Hi, I'm Darin (the guy in the scrubs on the right – the handsome fellow on the left is Walter!)
Some fun facts about me:
‣ My toddler keeps me in shape
‣ But I still snowboard, golf and play kickball
‣ I have a soft spot for some good SciFi
I'm really passionate about acupuncture and ancient Eastern medicine. When I was 19, a snowboarding accident messed up my back pretty badly, and Western medicine was not helping me heal. After only one acupuncture treatment, my back was significantly better. This experience inspired me to study acupuncture, and I'm still continually amazed to this day how it helps treat and heal so many different issues that my clients come in with.
If you haven't been in before but you're curious about acupuncture, shoot me a message or send me an email! Walter would love to meet you, and I'd love to help you.
