Mr. B's Meadery is Hiring!
At Mr. B's, we are a safe space with focus on education and understanding. The LGBTQIA+ community is a huge part of who we serve and we love you. We are looking for someone with immaculate vibes to help us grow our brand and promote our business through stellar customer service. Possibility for quick increase in hours as we continue to grow our operations in the South end.

Responsibilities:
1. Create a welcoming environment by greeting and engaging all customers . Encourage visitors to identify their appropriate pronouns.
2. Create unique and memorable tasting experiences.
3. Communicate clearly and respectfully with a diverse clientele.
4. Learn our story to share with customers.
5. Provide local tourist information and recommendations to guests.
6. Learn/have basic mead making knowledge in order to answer tasting room questions.
7. Drive sales through creating experiences in-store while building relationships with customers to create loyalty in the community.
8. General housekeeping to ensure the cleanliness of the tasting room. (Opening, closing, cleaning, and side work duties as assigned. About 30min + of cleaning and bar bottle restock after every shift.)
9. Track customer tabs accurately and handle routine transactions through Square POS.
10. Restock mead as needed and communicate stock levels with Mr. B regularly.

Requirements:
1. Restaurant/Barrista/Winery/Sales/Bartending/Customer Service experience required.
2. Previous mead knowledge is not required, but willingness to learn is a must.
3. Strong and respectful communication skills.
4. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (Rarely lift kegs)
5. Standing/walking/talking for duration of 4-7 hour shifts. (Seating is provided for down times.)
6. Must be at least 21 years of age with a current Washington State MAST Class 12 mixologist permit (or able to obtain within 2 weeks of hire).
7. Must be a self-starter who enjoys working independently and can handle responsibility with very little oversight.

What to expect:
1. Plan on completing a paid probationary period which would consist of shadowing Mr. B (Brandon) while learning the position and products. The duration of this period will depend on progression.
2. Once trained, we are asking for a minimum requirement of 2 shifts per week. Weekend availability required.
3. Following the probationary period, the shifts available would be:
Mondays (4:30-10:30 pm)
Saturdays (5:30-11:30 pm)
Sundays (5:30-10:30 pm).
You will also have the opportunity to cover shifts when the other bartenders request time off as well if extra hours are desired. You are not required to provide coverage if none is desired but it is greatly appreciated.

Pay: Hourly pay is $17.25 with tips. Our current mead tenders have averaged $34.50-$41.15 per hour with tips this year.
