Dear Valued Clients,
We have made the necessary and incredibly tough decision to close our hospital on Fridays until September 9th. Effective immediately, our hospital hours are Monday-Thursday from 8:00-6:00 PM.
We have been battling a severe staffing shortage, and while our circumstances are not unique to our field, they have affected us immensely operating as a small business. We know our fellow Seattle area clinics are also struggling and some are even closing their doors permanently.
We are grateful to announce that we have several wonderful new hires joining our team in August, but we must allow time for our newer members to be trained so that we can continue to provide the quality of care our patients deserve.
The Atlantic recently published an article called 'The Great Veterinary Shortage: There are simply not enough people to take care of all the sick animals.' The byline breaks our hearts because it is true, and because we know we aren't able to help all the patients that need care right now.
As always, thank you to our clients that have shown us such kindness and patience. We are still here for you and your pets, and we want to be a for a long time to come.
Sincerely,
The Team at Ballard Animal Hospital
We will be closed on Monday, July 4th. We will re-open for normal business hours on Tuesday, July 5th at 8:00 AM. Please visit our website's contact page for 24 hour referral hospital information during our closure. Have a fun and safe holiday, everyone!

Then last week, along came one of our amazing clients, who adopted Wiggy and are giving her a loving, cozy and forever home. ๐ We love happy endings!
