Just a quick reminder that tickets for the 3:30p seating of the Flights of Fancy tasting event featuring and are still available for purchase until this Sunday, Nov 3!
Big thanks to all those who have already made their reservations and sold out our 1pm seating! If you've been thinking about attending and haven't bought your tickets yet, now is the time as we only have 9 seats left for the seating at 3:30p!
For the past few months, I've had the immense pleasure and privilege of working with Niko (pasty wizard behind ) & Shiro (tea guru ) to create a unique tasting experience that highlights the beautiful craft and creativity of these two Seattle small businesses.
We started by giving Niko free reign to chart a flavor journey of Moderne Bakery's dreams. After many experiments and iterations, the result is a flight of five delectable bites that puts Niko's culinary creativity and technical talent on full display.
To this, Shiro carefully selected a perfect complement from 's vast arsenal of premium Japanese teas that delivers a new dynamic and dimension to each dessert course.
We are so proud and excited to finally share with you what we've literally cooked up during the course of the last several weeks. We hope you'll come along on our epicurean adventure!

⏰ 11a-3p!
We introduced a handful of their bars to the Sari Sari Shop last month and couldn't be more excited that they'll be bringing an expanded line up of flavors to sample and purchase next Saturday.
Unlike most chocolate shops or chocolatiers who use pre-made industrial chocolate, Kasama makes their chocolate from scratch, directly from the cacao bean. It's a time and labour intensive process, but it allows them to fully control each step of the process and bring out the rich regional flavours of each bean. Clearly the proof is in the pudding as they have been internationally recognized, winning several awards for their excellent craft and singular flavors.
But perhaps what they are most proud of is their impact on sustainable farming practices in the Philippines. Committed to building relationships and working alongside their Filipino cacao farmers, growers, and small stakeholders, Kasama launched a sustainable cacao research project in partnership with the University of British Columbia’s Centre for Sustainable Food Systems and their colleagues in the Northern Philippines. Starting in the summer of 2024, they planted their first crop of cacao in Gattaran, Cagayan Province near the Sierra Madre mountains in Northern Luzon.
For all these reasons and so much more, we are honored to be hosting Kasama Chocolates at the Sari Sari Store next Sat, just in time for FAHM! So don't sleep on this rare opportunity to sample some of the world's best chocolate crafted in all the right ways!
I first started hearing about from the bakers who were popping up at our markets. One after another, they would extol the carmelized crust on a Kouign Amann or a custardy center of a Canelé created by one magical Moderne Bakery. And like the lines of aunties and elders that only form at the best Asian restaurants, I knew that if other bakers are raving about your pastries, you have to be on to something.
When I finally got to sample Moderne's sablé cookies, they did not disappoint. As each bite gave way, revealing a delicate crumbly texture, a symphony of rich flavor bloomed into buttery gloriousness before melting away all too soon.
It is my theory that the secret to their success is literally rocket science. Niko, the savant behind Moderne Bakery, was once a SpaceX Mission Manager before turning it all in for a life of patisserie. Imagine the exacting discipline and attention to detail that must go into rocket science being applied towards the art of French pastry. It's no wonder that Morderne has been batting 1000 and hitting it out of the park with their exquisite creations.
Which is why we are so honored and enormously excited that Niko will be launching a very special new treat at our Chuseok Market this Sat! Introducing 's Sablé Cookie Luxury Mini Purses - an assortment of delectable Petits Sablés in celebrated flavors of Raspberry Rose, Matcha, Earl Grey, Espresso, and Chocolate all tucked into a beautifully crafted, luxury mini purse! Whether you choose the serene Lavender, the classic Navy, the bold Red, or the vibrant Orange, each purse adds a pop of color and a touch of sophistication to the deliciousness inside — Perfect for gifting, sharing or treating yourself to a little pleasure!
Be sure to place a preorder via 's webpage for pick up at our Chuseok Market this Sat (9/21) between 11a-3p .
I can't tell you how incredibly stoked we are to be welcoming back this Sat for our Chuseok Market. Perhaps one the most charming ventures to enter the small biz arena, Marcellus & Amy, the dynamic duo behind , have been hustling hard to make their boba business dreams a reality while diligently chronicling their entire journey. Spend some time on their IG grid and you'll quickly learn about all of the wins they've celebrated and losses they've endured when it comes to flavor R&D, pop up logistics and even their bottom line. Their honest transparency has won the hearts of so many, but that's not to say their drinks can't hold their own in the flavor department.
Constantly pushing boundaries and embracing creativity, 's drinks are as much candy to the eye as to they are to your taste buds. Here's the menu of flavors they are planning to bring to market:
🎃🥥 Pumpkin Coco
Pumpkin Crema + Coconut Juice
🍠🥥 Ube Coco
Ube Crema + Coconut Juice
🍵✨ Matcha My Freak
Yoka Tea's Signature Matcha + Black Sesame Crema
🍓🍵 Strawberry Matcha Latte
Yoka Tea's Signature Matcha + Strawberry Puree

We're fresh into September and I'm so pleased to announce that our Featured Artist of the Month is Lillian Liu of !
Moving from Taiwan to St.Louis, Missouri and then to Southern California, Lillian's childhood was a bit nomadic. Separated from friends by miles and even hemispheres, Lillian spent years staying in touch through handwritten letters. It was a practice that quickly fostered a love for snail mail and it's unique ability to communicate love even remotely. It's no wonder then that Lillian has built a brand that empowers others to express their sentiments across distances both literal and figurative.
One of the qualities that makes Lillian's work particularly interesting and personally resonant is her amazing ability to capture the feeling of growth and change …and I especially love that she doesn't shy away from the harder feelings of grief and longing. As a self loathing maximalist, I both admire and envy the profound efficiency of her work, which with a few simple, graphic strokes can capture an existential dilemma I've been struggling with for years. Here's looking at you, uncertainty!
For this entire month, Anyoung Super's vending machines will be stocked with Lillian's adorable washi tapes, acrylic keychains and vinyl stickers. Racked on the shelf, you'll find an array of cheerful riso printed cards, zines, stickers and the cutest habit tracker set. Taking in her body of work, you can see her love for the healing act of journaling, elements of her Taiwanese American identity and her love for cute nostalgic things.
If you are a fan like me, you won't want to miss our Chuseok Market on 9/21 when Lillian will be popping up in person from 11a-3p with her extended line of products. She will be joined by an all-star line up of vendors who will be helping us to celebrate Chuseok, Korea's Mid-Autumn Festival. This will be the last market event until the holiday season so come on through, eat, drink and be merry with us!
If you've ever been curious about the merits and differences between 's Ura and Kochi matcha (both stocked at our and locations) you might want to get yourself down to our Brunch Market this Sat . From 11a-3p, Shiro, our favorite Sugimoto tea expert will be offering up samples and waxing eloquent about some of their seasonal favorites.
Here's what will be on tap:
🍵✨ Kochi Ceremonial Matcha
This luscious ceremonial matcha was crafted exclusively with leaves from the first flush. Kochi is best enjoyed when prepared traditionally as whisked matcha, but can also be used to make a more luxurious latte.
🍵✨ Ura Premium Matcha
While Ura can be enjoyed on its own, as traditionally prepared matcha, this premium culinary grade matcha is best for adding to a smoothie, latte, or for baking flavorful matcha sweets.
🍵☕ Matcha & Hojicha Latte Mixes
These matcha latte mixes come pre-sweetened with organic cane sugar, making it easy to prepare and delicious sipped hot or iced.
✨☕ Mugicha
Aromatic, lightly sweet, and with a delicious nutty flavor, this barley tea is a favorite among Japanese and Korean households.
Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to get schooled in the ways of Japanese tea and to try before you buy a tin/box/bag to enjoy at home!
I don't care what the anatomy books say, I for one, whole heartedly subscribe to the belief that I possess a separate stomach just for desserts. And if you too follow the church of confection, I'm happy to announce that will have your sweet tooth's back this Sat!

While coffee jelly has enjoyed immense popularity in Japan, its presence in the US has been limited at best. Recognising an opportunity and as personal fans, the amazing team behind took it upon themselves to introduce this delightful dessert to the coffee capital of the PNW while giving it their own unique twist. Unlike the traditional version made with gelatin, Koto's jellies are crafted using agar, resulting in a much softer texture that can be enjoyed through a straw. Using only freshly brewed coffee and tea, every Koto cup of jelly coffee not only boasts a distinctive texture, but is sure to have a satisfyingly robust and refreshing flavor in every sip.
After months and months of hard work, we were excited to learn that has secured a brick-and-mortar home located in First Hill set to open in mid-October! Thankfully however, you won't have to wait until then to try their beautiful wares as they'll be popping up this Sat (8/31) at our next Brunch Market . The crew will be here to serve up their classic Jelly Coffee and Jelly Matcha with various milk toppings, as well as their Milk Jelly with a choice of Espresso or Matcha syrup.
So come on through and discover for yourself the good word on coffee/tea jelly, Seattle's newest favorite dessert!
As summer starts to wind down, we'll be gearing up for August's Brunch Market on Sat, 8/31 from 11a-3p . We had such a blast last month that we decided to squeeze in another expanded roster while the odds of dry weather are still in our favor. Here's who's coming to market:

- Family owned jeweler crafting statement pieces inspired by Chinese culture and designed for connection
seas.jewelry - Meticulously hand-beaded jewelry incorporating semiprecious gemstones, pearls, & Swarovski crystals

You know we'll be eating well and having fun and we think you deserve to too! So mark those calendars, set your reminders and get yourself to Brunch Market! We'd love for you to join us!
As we enter into the back half of summer, I'm so proud to announce that Anyoung Super's August featured artist is the incredible Monyee Chau ()!
One of the few people I know who could truly call themselves a Seattleite, Monyee's roots to the city runs deep and right through the C-ID where they literally grew up in their grandparents' seafood restaurant. Shaped by the revolving door of personalities & politics, not to mention the incredible aromas and flavors churned out by the kitchen, the microcosm that was Chau’s Family Seafood Restaurant remains as an influential inspiration for her art.
Creator of zines, prints, paintings, illustrations and installations, Monyee's artistic expressions are as rich and varied as the their identity: a q***r Taiwanese/Chinese American artist who isn't afraid to champion causes, compassion and community. They are as unapologetically and authentically themselves as they are generously gracious and sweet. We are honored to be stewards of Monyee's amazing work for the month of August.
Here's what's currently stocked at the Artist Arcade (in our Pioneer Square location):
✨ Flat Vending Machine - a triptych of citrus themed vinyl stickers
🎊 Gachapon Vending Machines - fish and cat magnets all sculpted, painted and lovingly packaged by hand
🌟 On the Shelf - Collection of stickers, zines, and lobster tote bag curated by Monyee
We are thrilled to also share that Monyee will be popping up in person at our August Brunch Market slated to take place on Sat, 8/31 from 11a-3p. We hope you'll join us in celebrating Monyee's first brick & mortar "storefront" and the last few blissful days of summer.
For so many of us, food is a love language. But for some of us who have lost loved ones, the act of creating food itself can be a practice of self love and healing. Cooking and baking was a passion of Zoe Sonoda for decades, but when she experienced the loss of several close family members in 2017, baking became a way to navigate her grief and set her on a path that eventually led to the founding of in 2021.
Over the past 4 years, three words have guided her business practice: “Inspire. Create. Delight.” It has been the heart of her business and what she excels at most. Her unique flavors are inspiring, her creative ex*****on impeccable, and her results always delightful.
But in the few months that I've gotten to know Zoe, I'd add "community" to that list. A frequent contributor to fundraisers, a loyal business collaborator, professional caretaker and a loving super aunt to top it all off, Zoe has always taken the time to genuinely connect and serve her community.
It goes without saying that I'm thrilled to introduce Zoe and to our community and I hope you'll join me in welcoming her to our Brunch Market this Sat, 7/20 from 11a until sell out!

Brighten your day by shopping her collection of stationery goodies, greeting cards, Giclée prints, pins and more!

As July is already well on its way, please allow me to introduce Anyoung Super's featured artist of the month, Marie Aoki of ! As an illustrator originally from Japan, Marie has developed a signature 'kawaii' style that is as joyful as her vibrant palette. But despite the abundantly adorable aesthetic, it's not all eye candy for the COE (chief of everything). Keen on making practical items, Marie's collection includes things like microfiber cleaning cloths, tape measures, hand sanitizer sprays, and keyboard keycaps all decked out with a menagerie of the cutest creatures. 'Function' clearly has a seat alongside 'Form' at Marie's table of design.

While the weather might not have gotten the memo yet, (Sat's forecast calls for cooler temps and rain 🌧️😭) we are still planning to get on our summer vibes alongside who will be popping up this Sat (6/15) from 11a-3p during this month's Brunch Market!
If you haven't had the privilege of experiencing Sweet Alchemy in your life yet, I couldn't be more excited for you as you are literally in for the sweetest of treats. They craft their Sweet Cream base daily from organic ingredients, most of which are meticulously sourced within 100 miles of Seattle. As their dairy comes from Fresh Breeze Organics, a family owned farm in Lynden, WA, the time from farm to cone is on average, one week! It goes without saying, they take freshness very seriously - a standard and practice that extends to their sauces, toppings, flavor mix-ins, and waffle cones which are also made from scratch using only ingredients they are proud to serve.
We are in turn extremely proud to be hosting Lois and her Sweet Alchemy crew this Sat (6/15) when they will be serving up...
