Upthegrove has decades of experience in natural resources and environmental policymaking. He has a demonstrated knowledge of the history and of the need for transformational change at DNR, prioritizing racial justice, environmental justice, and Tribal sovereignty. He is best positioned to win this important statewide position.

You may have heard about Ballot Initiative 2066 on natural gas. This initiative would slow down climate progress we cannot afford.
Caitlin Krenn, [WCA's Climate and Clean Energy Director], said the initiative was “the latest in a slew of misleading and destructive” initiatives backed by Heywood.“
"I-2066 would take away communities’ choice, jeopardize rebate programs that help families and small business owners afford building upgrades, repeal commonsense measures that make homes and workplaces more energy efficient and healthy, and erode clean air protections. Over time this measure will raise energy costs for hardworking Washingtonians.”
WA initiative on natural gas could be on your ballot in November If the initiative gets on the Washington's November ballot, it will join three other initiatives backed by Brian Heywood.
Meet WCA’s and Native Vote WA’s summer interns, Aynur, Tara, Aoife, and Mariana! We are so excited to have them on board supporting our work with communities! ✨🎉
Buy us a Breakfast at Tiffany’s to help meet our fundraising goals this month! ☕️🥐
We’re looking for 25 people to become new monthly donors at $10 each by the end of June. Give at wcaction.us/BuyUsBreakfast or via link in bio!
These next few months will be critical. We are especially laser-focused on:
☕️ Educating voters about the Climate Commitment Act and the funds it has generated for projects across the state – including free public transit for young people; thousands of new electric charging stations; programs to monitor air pollution and funds to support salmon recovery.
☕️ Organizing across the state to get 50,000 new or infrequent voters to commit to voting in November through our Call 4 Climate Action program.
☕️ Working to elect environmental champions in crucial roles including Governor and Commissioner of Public Lands.
Please consider sparing the cost of a cup of coffee and croissant monthly ($10) to help keep our programs thriving
While you’re bumpin that this summer, remember that I-2117 would devastate programs to protect our air, water, and land — and cut investments in transportation. Brian Heywood is a ‼️‼️‼️ Don’t let them win. Vote NO on I-2117 ⚡️

Please take a moment to take our Community-Based Participatory Survey. This survey, created by our Tautua Climate Leadership Cohort in collaboration with Hatheway Tennent Consulting, specifically aims to highlight how 2SLGBTQIA+ people are impacted by climate change. We understand that members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community are disproportionately affected by climate change, yet there's a lack of data on this issue. Unfortunately, this means that funding rarely supports 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals who are working towards climate justice.
