There’s a lot to celebrate this week at Green Leaf Dental 🌿

This week is not only Dental Assistant Appreciation Week, but it was also National Dentist Day on Wednesday 🦷

We want to share our appreciation and gratefulness to our hardworking staff because without them, Green Leaf Dental would not be what it is today! To all the dental assistants and dentists out there, thank you. You make the world of dentistry go round ✨👏🏻

Invisalign Transformation 🤩

This patient was in treatment for about 6-7 months and we were able to not only better align their anterior teeth, but also put their bite into a better position for functionally and aesthetics 🦷

As you can see in the first slide, Green Leaf Dental uses iTero technology to image our patients’ teeth. With this intraoral scan, our providers are able to see a multitude of things, including occlusion and alignment, without having to be in the patient’s mouth 😁

This also allows our providers to show our patients what’s going on in their mouth first hand! Green Leaf Dental likes to updates these scans for all patients once a year to track the progression of their oral health.

Maël did the best at his First Dental Visit! We are so proud of him 🥰

For little ones, the best time to bring them in for their first visit is by their first birthday or when their first tooth emerges, whichever comes first!

It is important to make them comfortable in the dental setting to help it become a healthy habit that will last a lifetime. We help ease this process and new environment by making the visit less intimidating. We do this by having our infant exams in our open bay, which is a spacious area full of natural light. Until a child is about 2 years old, we also do what is called a "knee to knee" exam. In the second picture you can see how this is demonstrated. This helps give your kiddo a sense of comfort and security by having you close by.

"Baby Bottle Decay" is really common with young children!

There are ways to help prevent this from happening, and definitely ways to correct this decay if it has already occurred.

Some prevention tips:

⭐ Reducing amount of sugary drinks/snacks given

⭐ Drinking water after to help rinse any sugar residue

⭐ Avoid having child sleep with bottle

⭐ Wiping teeth after drinking milk/juice

⭐ Daily/Nightly brushing
