Beginning Jewelry class at Pratt!

OMG. Y’all. My Weds night class is completely off the wall! This cohort is so much fun, they are just going nuts in the studio. Cutting up, cracking inappropriate jokes when they think my back is turned… or when I’m in the middle of a demo 🤣 geez guys I’m trying to keep it professional here, help a buddy out! 🤭🤯😂

Here we are making a box ring project - basically just a big hollow-formed ring. They get to decide what shape it is, and I try to provide a few different shapes for examples. You’ll never guess what they started calling this triangle one. (I’ll put it in the comments.)

Catching up on some work-in-progress shots, this is a bespoke pendant being made for a special lady. Sterling silver willow twigs woven into a setting partially inspired by Arwen’s Evenstar necklace.
Prototype complete, next it will be cast in white gold.

Arcana Metalwork – Handcrafted Jewelry in the heart of downtown Seattle

Arcana Metalwork is expanding/revamping our workshop to house a new venue for contemporary jewelry exhibitions. We are so excited to create a space to showcase the best of the Seattle jewelry community - and beyond!

Located within the ’57 Biscayne Artist Studios in Pioneer Square, Arcana Metalwork is perfectly situated for this new venture. Perched on the 2nd floor overlooking Cherry St, we’re a little off the beaten track; we’re the reward for the intrepid art lover. We intend to offer exciting, provocative, inspiring, and heartfelt interpretations of current events and modern metalsmithing. Behind the gallery, you’ll get a glimpse into a working artists’ studio where jewelry is created on site.

About the owner: Peggy Foy is a classically trained metalsmith with nearly 20 years of experience at the bench. Each piece is carefully handcrafted for years of enjoyment, and each design is crafted thoughtfully, with layers of meaning; the hope is that these layers may be relatable to your life and your journey. “My jewelry taps into something arcane, mysterious, and a bit hidden within all of us - a modern-day talisman to help focus your intentions... helping you feel grounded, confident, and beautiful.”
