🚍 Beginning in July 2024, King County Metro recently expanded its on-demand shuttle service Metro Flex to Delridge and South Park! 🎉

🏘️ The Delridge and South Park neighborhoods were identified as priority areas for these investments based on an equity analysis of where transit service is most needed and could provide the most benefit! 🌍

📲 Trips can be arranged through an app or online https://metroflex.app.ridewithvia.com/ between 6am and 11pm seven days a week. Rides will cost $2.75, the same fare as a regular bus route! 💸

🚌 The Delridge/South Park Metro Flex service is operating as a two-year pilot program using money from the 2020 ballot initiative called the Seattle Transit Measure! 📊

Bats play a crucial role in our ecosystem, from boosting crop health to maintaining biodiversity. Although they're common in Washington state, their nocturnal habits often keep them hidden. 🌙🌳

DNDA is thrilled to team up with Bats Northwest and Woodland Park Zoo for a special event at Pigeon Point Park on Wednesday August 28th from 6pm-9pm! Together, we'll observe local bats, learn from bat experts, and contribute to a regional bat activity map📝🔍

Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast or simply curious, don't miss this chance to discover local bat species and support bat conservation efforts in our region. 🌍💚

On March 30, 1958, Alvin Ailey led a group of young African-American modern dancers in a now-fabled performance at the 92nd Street Y in New York City that forever changed the perception of American dance. Mr. Ailey was a pioneer in establishing a multi-racial repertory company that presented important works by both dance masters and emerging choreographers. Regarded as one of the world’s premiere dance companies, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is a recipient of the National Medal of Arts and is recognized by a U.S. Congressional resolution as a vital American “Cultural Ambassador to the World.”

Having performed in 71 countries on 6 continents for an estimated 25 million people worldwide—as well as millions more through television broadcasts, film screenings, and online platforms—Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater continues to inspire and unite people of all backgrounds around the globe. Through the remarkable artistry of extraordinary dancers, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater continues to celebrate the African-American cultural experience and to preserve and enrich the American modern dance tradition. With a repertory of over 235 works by more than 90 choreographers and a permanent home at The Joan Weill Center for Dance in New York City—the largest building dedicated to dance in New York City, the dance capital of the world—the Ailey legacy flourishes, using the universal language of dance as a medium for honoring the past, celebrating the present and fearlessly reaching into the future.

“Nothing prepares you for the totality of Alvin Ailey: the aural, visual, physical, spiritual beauty…Heaven…Everywhere you looked: sensory pleasure…” – THE NEW YORK TIMES, ZADIE SMITH
