The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, also known as the ADA, is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability. He received the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1993 for his work and then served as the country’s first Black president from 1994 to 1999. On June 26, 2015, a significant milestone was reached when the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision in the case of Obergefell v. Hodges, declared Same-Sex Marriage legal in all 50 states. This landmark ruling granted equal rights and benefits to same-sex couples. According to 2020 data, approximately 300,000 same-sex couples have united in marriage since the Supreme Court's ruling, further promoting equality and inclusivity.
