Pócima La Condesa
Featuring Condesa Clásica Mexican Gin
Spirits hold the essences of their original ingredients. As we consume our crafted cocktails, we are taking in these essences and in a way their souls. Each ingredient in Pócima de la Condesa has its own purpose in ancient curandera tradition and their combination aim to do more than just taste delicious, they are a pocima (potion) for those who consume it. A healers work is in the soul. Applying curanderismo into the creation of craft cocktails combines tradition with modern sophistication as the mixologist tranforms into a healer. Today we see a resurgence in ancient spiritual and healing practices but in ways that can preserve their existence within modernity. This cocktail was made for a night out and who wants to feel good about what kind of drink they are having, with ingredients that have a purpose. Salt and sage function as cleansers, a limpia. Flowers of Condesa Clasica gin attract love. Lavender to create an overall sense of positivity and expel your stress. Cleanse your essence with Pócima de la Condesa, a limpia for Mexican spirit lovers.
How to make:
In a chilled mixing glass add 50ml (1.7 oz) of Condesa Clasica gin, 15ml (0.5 o)z of sage infused triple sec, 15ml (0.5 oz) of pineapple juice, 7.5ml (0.25oz) of lemon juice, 4 dashes of lavender bitters, and a pinch of salt.
Add ice and stir for at least 10 seconds, double straining into a small sniffer glass.
Want to make it’s garnish?
Lay out lavender flowers on plate and press down half of your lemon allowing enough pressure for them to stick. With a cocktail pick, weave through lemon and set on glass rim.
