Shakopee Educational Endowment Foundation (SEEF) funded a grant for materials for Zoo Phonics extension activities and materials to be used building-wide here at Pearson! The Shakopee Educational Endowment Foundation (SEEF) is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the quality of education in the Shakopee School District by funding projects that provide innovative opportunities for our students. This grant allowed the purchase of many activities to help our youngest learners grow in their knowledge of letter sounds, letter names, writing, and beginning reading. Our first duckling, Crunch, has had a very busy Monday!

Pickles hatched last night! He is the first of our chicks and ducklings to hatch in the incubator our STEAM Lab. He had a very busy first day of school and is looking forward to the other friends to join him soon!!!🐣

This school year, we paired with Shakopee High Schools students in an art class called “Creative Professionals” to create new posters for our building behavior expectations. The students involved included: Lilly Yem, Jasmine Outhaveng, and Madalyn Nehwah. And a shout out to our own, Jackie McNeil, who took the photographs in our preschool classes. We are so excited to get these up in our common areas: classroom, gym, cafeteria, hallways, and bathrooms.

Sending over 250 spring art projects to residents in local nursing care facilities to brighten their days. We love teaching our students to use their “Caring Hearts” and show kindness to others in the community.🐯💓

Our Saber Cubs had a visit from Miss Sheila and learned about keeping their teeth clean & healthy!!🐯🐾

Wow Pearson families!! You made our hearts burst with your caring hearts. You brought in over 425 pounds of food and personal needs items for Shakopee Community Assistance (SCA). SCA and our staff are so grateful for your donations. Way to be bucket fillers. Thank you so much!

Pearson Staff packed 20,088 meals at Feed My Starving Children Friday evening!

During PACT (Parent and Child Together) in our PACE class last week we talked about being Bucket Fillers in the community. We then painted these canvases to donate to some local nursing homes.

A shoutout to our Saber Cubs and their families for helping our Bucket Filling Food and Toiletry Drive be such a success in the first week. So far we have collected 175 pounds of our 300 pound goal!!!
These items will be donated to Shakopee Community Assistance to support local families. The food and toiletry drive runs through the end of February. Let’s continue to support bucket filling and kindness in the community.

During the month of February, we focus on “bucket filling” here at Pearson Early Learning Center. “Bucket filling” is helping others and making others feel good about themselves by doing kind things, sharing, saying nice things, and playing together. We at Pearson want to extend bucket filling opportunities to our families and are hosting a food and toiletry drive to support a local agency, Shakopee Community Assistance (SCA). We have a drop off bin in the front lobby of Pearson or feel free to use the QR code to order items that can be directly shipped to us here at Pearson. Thank you for your support.

Our preschoolers and families have been busy creating Valentine’s art to share with local care facility residents at St. Gert’s, Friendship Manor, and All Saints. We were able to gift over 300 pieces of art. Here at Pearson Early Learning Center, we teach our students about sharing, using caring hearts, and filling other people’s buckets. Our students knocked it out of the park with all of these amazing projects. 🐯🐾

Looking forward to celebrating with all our current and future Saber Cubs at the Winter Blues Celebration next Thursday!!!
There will be be dancing, games, pizza ($1 per slice) and a fundraising raffle (tickets $1 ea.)!!!
