In science class this year, our middle school students are learning about different types of energy. The theme for the first quarter is how energy is transferred between living and nonliving things.
Over the past couple of weeks, students used hands-on activities to learn about matter recycling, and the many simultaneous circles of decay happening in our ecosystem. They compared logs at three points of decay and documented observations about the cycle through images and writing. This activity led into exploring the world of microbes!
We'll share more about our students' scientific experiments soon!
Our Fall Break is this Friday, October 25th and our monthly Professional Development Day is Monday, October 28th. There is no school for students on either day. Enjoy your four day weekend!
Our kindergarten classes have been taking advantage of the beautiful colors and great weather by taking their learning outside of the classroom the last couple weeks! We love watching nature boost our little learners’ curiosity 🍂

Our 4/5 graders shared a small act of great kindness with our Sheboygan Police Department in memory of 9/11!
Mrs. Johnston from E'tude's 4th and 5th grade class stopped by with some kind words, a few notes of encouragement and some origami. They learned about 9/11 yesterday and wanted to thank us for our service. These small acts of kindness go a long way. Thanks E'tude!!!

Another Habit of Mind we live and learn by at Ètude is the Habit of Wondering.
We believe the ability to go more in depth into a topic by seeking more information through questions is a powerful part of learning and actively encourage our students to wonder through thinking routines and other activities.

Alongside our Habits of Professionalism, Ètude students also live and learn by Habits of Mind.
One of these is observation. We believe observation is key to developing one’s mind. Observing involves looking closely and being able to describe what one sees. At the Ètude Schools, we strive to recognize patterns, make generalizations, and look in depth.
Call us today to schedule a tour of our schools!

Due to the ongoing rain, the conditions at Vollrath Bowl will not allow us to hold the ceremony safely today. Thank you for your patience and support as we have worked through today's weather conditions.
This Thursday evening, join us for our John Michael Kohler Arts Center Fellowship Night featuring a variety of visual arts and musical Exhibitions of Learning, presented by this semester's group of fellows.
