Can you believe it? Already to Lesson 6!
In this lesson you'll follow how God's blessing extended successively from one region and people to another. You'll see the drastic consequences for the Christian movement when the blessing of the gospel of God was not extended. Lesson 6 sets the record straight about the wider impact and spread of the general blessings of the kingdom of God throughout the world.

In this lesson, you saw how God launched the World Christian movement. As you do the readings you will continue to discover that the Church is a double structure that endures to this day. We will watch how ordinary people chose a strategy of suffering which they learned from Jesus and will consider how you can live with that same apostolic passion. You will examine the biblical grounds of hope for an enormous ingathering at the end of the age.

If you see this and are excited for that gathering, please like or comment with a Hallelujah!

We rightly exalt Jesus as personal Savior. But in seeking to honor Christ for the great worth of His death and resurrection, we may have ignored much of the astounding accomplishment of His life. Jesus did far more than provide for salvation, He launched a movement that would actually bring that salvation to every part of the world. In this lesson, you'll examine Jesus' lifework and His enduring mandate. He chose His followers and ordered His actions with strategic intent. He said to His Father at the end of His life, "I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You gave Me to do" (John 17:4).

What was your key take-away from tonight's lesson?

There is still time to register and join us for this Spring's class - week 3 instructor on Monday at Crossroads. Here's a highlight of this week's instruction that many have already seen within the readings but we will be expanded upon in class:

Jesus had one prevailing theme in His teaching: the kingdom of God. He used that theme to call people to follow Him. He used that language to enlist His friends to follow Him further - into the final stages of the global war against evil.

Christ's focus on the kingdom of God challenges us with matters of huge significance in this war. It is no small thing to establish communities of kingdom life as outposts of light in the midst of spiritual darkness. Because of the surpassing certainty of the inbreak of the kingdom, it is not rare to find Christ's servants loving their own lives so little that death does not threaten them. These people pray and labor for nothing less than His kingdom coming on Earth as it is in heaven. Such a pursuit of Christ's kingdom is the heart of all true hoping. It is the soul of all praying. The kingdom of God is the core of all mission.

Most of us learned the Bible using a story-by-story approach. Lessons from these stories were usually applied to our personal concerns. Because of this, we may have wrongly assumed that the Bible is a loose collection of stories with no overriding, integrating purpose. Furthermore, we may quite selfishly conclude that the Bible is all about our personal lives. The reality is that the Bible is far more about God than it is about people. With God at the center and the end of it all, the Bible can be seen not as a disjointed collection of ancient stories and statements but rather as a single driving saga. This story is still unfolding today.

Join us Monday night to hear Brian Hogan teach us these truths as he also shares about his time church planting in Mongolia (His book = There's a Sheep in my Bathtub).

Message us if you need more details - Free Week (no cost to attend!)

In this lesson we began a journey to discover what God has revealed about His purpose through the story of the Bible. His purposes make the best sense when they are stretched out end-to-end on the timeline of the Bible's story. Walking with God through the story of the Scriptures will catapult us into the center of the significance of the rest of history.

Hoping to see everyone next Monday for Week 2! If you came to class for Week 1, please share some of your favorite quotes and pieces!

The Tuesday night class on 1/9 will be Zooming Lesson 1 from 5:30 - 8:30 pm. Please share this link with friends and family to check out Perspectives!

Mission trip to Fort McCoy?? 🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙💙

Hey all, as you might be aware, there are currently 13,000 Afghan refugees being housed at Fort McCoy, near Tomah WI.

The US gov is providing very little support for the high majority of arrivals. (Only 20,000 of the 70K are eligible for support!!!!!! A full 50K aren't even granted work permits!!!! The combination of extremely limited gov aid PLUS no clearance to work is a crisis waiting to happen.... And yet, there is time to take steps forward now and engage.

One key area I want to bring to your attention:

Did you know people can sign up for a 2-3 week volunteer "deployment" at Fort McCoy??? 🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙💙

In the link below, there's info of how to sign up for that, along with great info about critical items that are needed.

Please gather other believers (Your life group, your friends and family, your church) and seek ways to be the hands and feet of Christ!!!!

Less than 1% of all money given to missions goes to unreached people and places. That means that the people with the most urgent spiritual and physical needs on the planet are receiving the least amount of support.

In joining Urgent United by giving monthly toward Radical's Urgent initiative, you are helping fund Kingdom work in incredibly difficult places like North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, India, and much more. You are providing humanitarian care and access to the gospel to some of the world's hardest to reach people and places.

What are you willing to give up this summer to rectify this imbalance by giving More Than One?

"The history of missions is the history of answered prayer. From Pentecost to the Haystack meeting in New England and from the days when Robert Morrison landed in China to the martyrdom of John and Betty Stam, prayer has been the source of power and the secret of spiritual triumph.”

Frequently Asked Questions:

- What time investment do I need to make to this class?
With over 130,000 alumni worldwide, most will agree that taking the Perspectives class was a pivotal point in their Christian journey. Is there a lot of work...yup! But we can all agree that anything of true value usually requires time and dedication. Perhaps you are at a point in your walk with the Lord where you need to dive deep in His Word and immerse yourself in a class that will help you see His Global purpose for His church and help you find your place in His story. Aren't 25+ hours of solid teaching and training over 15 weeks, from some of the best teachers around, worth it to help guide your choices and pursuits for the Kingdom for the rest of your life?

Class meets for 3 hours for 15 weeks.

In terms of homework:
- Key Reading students will have 2-3 hours of reading time a week
- Certificate students have about 3-4 hours of reading weekly, plus weekly worksheets and a class project/paper due at the end of the term. If you try this level and get overwhelmed, we can always change your registration to the Key Reading level for no penalty. We want you to succeed.
- Credit students have about 4-6 hours of reading weekly, weekly worksheets, a class project/paper and 2 exams (mid-term and final.)

- Who are the instructors?
Each of the 15 weeks we will have a different instructor. These are men and women from across the country who are experts in their respective fields.

- Because many classes are hosted at a Church, can only that church's members sign up?
Not at all! It simply means that this church is gracious enough to let them meet in their wonderful facility. One of the most refreshing aspects of Perspectives is the sense of community that develops during the course and the fact that it can be so diverse. Our planning team is made up of people from various churches in the Sheboygan area. In addition to Sheboygan area residents, we anticipate people taking the class from as far away as Port Washington, West Bend, Green Bay and Fond du Lac.

- Is this course primarily for people who want to be "missionaries"?
No, but you will likely come away with a new appreciation for them! We believe that we can each make it our goal to bring our lives into closer alignment with the purposes of God. You don't necessarily have to move to or visit another country to help fulfill the Great Commission. If you want to be challenged to move your spiritual journey forward, then this is the class for you.
