What happens to the ballot for the presidential election now?

Per state law, the nominations for President and Vice President are not officially on the ballot for the presidential election until each political party has held their respective convention and submitted their nominations.

The Michigan Democratic Party must submit the name of their nominees within one business day after their convention on Aug. 24. Ballot printing must start by Sept. 7 to ensure they are ready to be mailed to military and overseas voters 45 days before Election Day, as required by federal law.
