Guided lantern tours are back for the Annual Event at Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site on the evenings of September 29th & 30th.

Stories will reflect the grisly details of fort life, including real characters at Fort Phil Kearny during the time of Red Cloud’s War against the Bozeman Trail Forts.

Cost is $10/person for ages 12 and up. Ages 11 and under are free, but do require a ticket. Tours are at 7:00; 7:30; 8:00; 8:30; 9:00 and 9:30.

All visitors are reminded to dress warmly for the outdoor tours. In cases of dangerously cold or wet conditions, the event will be canceled. For announcements and more information visit Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site on Facebook or on this website.

Full refund will be given in case of weather cancellation.

Please be sure to check in at the Fort Phil Kearny Interpretive Center 15 minutes before your scheduled tour to get your wristband.

Celebrating 100 years with The WYO Theater!

The WYO Performing Arts & Education Center will celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the original Lotus Theater – now the WYO – with a performance by the WYO’s New Vaudevillians. The event recalls the original opening of the Lotus featuring the New Vaudevillian Band accompanying an impressive cast of local talent performing a variety of acts including comedy, magic, singing and dancing! And, to add to the fanfare, the evening will include free giveaways and a walking history of the Lotus/WYO with a chance to learn even more about the WYO Theater and what’s in store for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.

When the WYO Theater opened in 1923 as the Lotus, newspaper headlines proclaimed it "Wyoming's Wonder Picture Palace!" The opening night audience was entertained by a program of singing, dancing, and comedy acts, musical selections by the 15-piece Lotus Orchestra, and feature movie, Enemies of Women, starring Lionel Barrymore and Alma Rubens.

Take a step back in time and join the celebration with the WYO’s New Vaudevillians and the WYO/Lotus 100-year Anniversary performance on August 25!
