A dedication to the deceased
Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Mu***os) is a two day holiday that reunites the living and dead. Families create ofrendas (Offerings) to honor their departed family members that have passed. These altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of the departed, and the favorite foods and drinks of the one being honored. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls hear their prayers, smell their foods and join in the celebrations!
Day of the Dead is a rare holiday for celebrating death and life. It is unlike any holiday where mourning is exchanged for celebration.
Dont let the ghosts keep your money, all us today to utilize your dental insurance benefits and HSA funds before the end of the year! 903-893-7751

• Fun size
Mars first produced "Fun Size" candy bars in the 1960s.
• Trick-or-treating
Trick-or-treating comes from an old European tradition called "going a-souling", where children would ask for food and treats in exchange for praying for the souls of their relatives.
• Dental health
Sticky candies like taffy, gummy worms, candy apples, and caramel can damage dental work.
• Nostalgia
Some say that people buy candy corn because of nostalgia, as it reminds them of their childhood.
From our patient:
Nelda-I was displeased with my previous dental care and knew my daughter saw Dr. Shoemaker. I decided to call his office in 2011. After meeting Dr. Shoemaker and discussing my dental history and what I liked and didn’t like about my mouth, he did an exam and took x-rays. I had no molar teeth on the upper left and was unable to eat on that side. We discussed placing implants so I could eat on both sides of my mouth and not wear out the teeth on the side I was chewing on. I decided I wanted teeth so I could eat well again. My surgery went fine and I am glad I can eat better now. Dr. Shoemaker is very through and a true perfectionist.
Overall healthy care starts with the mouth. #

From our patients:
Linda- I had broken a front tooth at the gum line and I thought I wanted an implant. I have had no problems since it has been placed. No one notices it unless I point it out to them, I was anxious to have it replaced quickly. I love my implant!
