Fireworks Safety Tips: If You Choose to Use Legal Fireworks

If you choose to use fireworks, be sure to follow the following safety tips:

● Never allow young children to handle fireworks
● Older children should use them only under close adult supervision
● Never use fireworks while impaired by drugs or alcohol
● Anyone using fireworks or standing nearby should wear protective eyewear
● Never hold lighted fireworks in your hands
● Never light them indoors.

Community members are invited to participate in a series of meetings designed to gather input on the selection of the next superintendent. These meetings will provide a platform for stakeholders to share their thoughts and priorities for the future superintendent.

DBMS principal Mrs. Wall is moving to Central Office, so there will be a community meeting at Donnie Bickham Middle School in the auditorium Tuesday, July 2, at 5:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to get input on the next principal. Our Eagles go to DBMS after third grade, so please consider going to have a say in their next principal.

July 29-31 the Northwood Lady Falcons are hosting a FREE skills camp for players 6 yrs old - 8th grade! Email Coach Mac ahead of time with your camper's name and age so we can ensure we have everything needed to make this camp beneficial for all!

Twenty schools were awarded the 2023 ENERGY STAR Certification during Tuesday's Caddo Parish School Board meeting! Buildings must perform in the top 25 percent nationwide for energy efficiency to earn the special designation.

FIELD DAY UPDATE

This is the relay schedule for Inside Field Day tomorrow. Parents can sit in the bleachers in the gym to watch students.

Pre K - 8:00 – 8:20
Kindergarten - 8:25 – 8:55
1st Grade - 9:00 – 9:30
2nd Grade - 9:35 – 10:05
3rd Grade - 10:10 – 10:40

Due to widespread power outages and impacted roadways as a result of Sunday night’s storms, all Caddo schools and sites will be closed Monday, April 29th.

We are actively working with our utility partners as they work to restore services.

Students in PreK have been learning about life cycles by watching chicks and butterflies!

Blanchard Louisiana. Field day is Friday May 3, afterwards will be the field day carnival where we will have bounce houses and food trucks. The wristband can be purchased at https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/33331

The deadline is Friday. The wristband will get your students in the bounce houses unlimited times (for their age level) and a drink/snack.

Test Taking Tips
1. Gather materials the night before - clothes for the next day, water bottle, snack, etc.
2. Get a good night’s sleep.
3. Eat a healthy breakfast.
4. Drink lots of water.
5. Get to school on time.

Blanchard Eagles were well represented in Shreveport and Monroe today! Third graders took part in Art Break performances with Coach Linder and Ms. McGee, in addition to showcasing artwork with Mrs. Rosalee. Additionally, one of BES's youngest Eagles, Jett Carmichael, threw out the opening pitch at the USSSA Angels 4 Autism softball tournament in Monroe. Great job, everyone!

3rd grade LEAP testing begins next Wednesday (4/17) and ends Tuesday (4/23). Please help our 3rd graders by being on time to school, eating a nutritious breakfast, and getting a good night's sleep.
