Your 2024-2025 Board of Directors has begun planning for the coming year, so stay tuned for information on fun events and activities. Our meetings will be held at 4:00pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Northwestern State University in Shreveport (1800 Line Ave). All SDNA members are invited to attend!

We are reviving the LSNA Continuing Education Cruise from New Orleans to Cozumel, Mexico this fall! Please mark your calendars NOW so that you can join us and be an integral part of this exciting celebration. We will be posting information shortly about specifics related to the cruise, its cost, and the CE program. This is a great opportunity to get away with your family or a group of friends and enjoy a fun getaway while also getting some CE. We hope to see you on board!

I am sorry to inform you that we must cancel this year’s SDNA’s Legislative Breakfast, which was due to be held on April 3, 2023, at Northwestern State University College of Nursing, 1800 Line Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana. Following consultation with the Board members, it was determined that the meeting would be uneventful due to several Senators and Representatives having plans to be in Baton Rouge on the date planned. The board members discussed an alternative date for the breakfast; however, this seemed unpractical under the circumstances. Therefore, I would like to apologize for the cancellation, especially to those who have already made plans to attend. Unfortunately, the circumstances were beyond our control; however, we intend to make next year’s Legislative Breakfast even more spectacular so I hope you can join us then. If you have already purchased tickets through Event Brite, a refund will be issued to you.

LSNA Nurse Memorial Ceremony

This year, the LSNA will remember nurses who lost their lives between 2019-2020. We ask you to share the names of Louisiana nurses we have lost. At the end of the collector form, there is also information about sending in a photograph, if you wish. Nurses will be remembered during a memorial ceremony during Membership Assembly on April 23rd and in the third quarter edition of Pelican News.
