Today we are talking sunscreen! ☀️

The best sunscreen for you is the one that you will actually wear! Daily sunscreen is recommended all year around, for all skin types, and for any amount of sun exposure (even just driving!). Exposure to UV rays over time is the #1 cause of premature skin aging and is also the cause of several types of skin cancer. Protecting your skin is a must, and it is the MOST important step in your skincare regimen!

We carry both mineral and chemical based sunscreens, as well as varying levels of spf coverage, tinted versus non-tinted, etc. My favorite sunscreen is the ZO sunscreen + primer spf 30 because it doubles as my make up primer, but we have many more to choose from. Come and see us to select a sunscreen that is best for you!

Had several clients booked for Botox today that we covered much more in our discussions than just Botox!

While getting their treatment ready we talked about hair health, supplements, current skin care etc. They were still in and out in 30 minutes with a Botox treatment, but also left with a plan for their skin and hair, knowledge of how to use their products, and what to plan on incorporating in the future, along with a knowledge of cost, downtime, expectations for these other treatments we discussed etc.

We love that our patients always get at least 30 min with a provider. This allows for treatment time but also just enough that they can get that extra info to plan for the future.

A few tips for your laser hair removal appointment ⤵️

Come into your appointment with clean, just shaved skin! Your skin must be not sunburned or tanned, and you must discontinue use of self tanning products for at least 14 days before your appointment. Treating skin that is tanned or sunburned increases the risk of unwanted side effects, including burning and hyperpigmentation. All the side effects we want to avoid comes with sun exposure, so avoiding the sun during the treatment course is required! And remember, always wear your sunscreen!

Other things to remember 14 days prior to your appointment includes avoiding waxing, avoiding using depilatory creams (Nair), and discontinuing retinol in the treatment area.
