Fun and Games with the seniors

07/16/2024

🔥 Help us beat the Louisiana heat! 🔥

We're asking businesses, organizations, churches, and individuals to donate fans for our FAN DRIVE.

📆 The Fan drive and distribution will continue through September 30. 📌 Seniors can pick up a fan from our office Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

With temperatures and humidity on the rise, seniors in Caddo Parish without proper air conditioning are at risk of heat-related injuries.

Let's come together with the Caddo Council on Aging to provide relief for our senior residents. Every fan counts!

LOVESBC FAM PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR A MISSING ELDERLY WOMAN FROM OUR NEIGHBORS IN TEXARKANA - BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN HEADED TO SHREVEPORT

We need your help locating a missing elderly lady.

She left her home in Texarkana about 7:30 on Monday evening.

We believe that she was possibly headed to Shreveport to visit family, but never made it there.

Ms. Miller has some health issues and recently started showing signs of dementia. While she took her luggage with her, she left all of her medications at home.

To say that we are worried about Ms. Miller is an understatement. If you see her or her car, please call 911 immediately.

The Shreveport Bossier Rescue Mission outreach and guest services team have been working round the clock to get our unhoused friends off the streets and into safe shelter.

During these bitter temperatures, the Mission is doing intakes 24/7. They have plenty of beds and cots and are ready to meet the needs of our homeless neighbors.
Want to help? Here's how:

➡️ If you see someone on the streets or living in a camp, please DM THEM that location (please do not share in the comments). They will share that information with the outreach team.
➡️ Help meet the needs of guests coming in out of the cold by purchasing items from their immediate needs list.
Pick up items from the list at https://bit.ly/missionneeds and drop off at 901 McNeil St. or order items from their Amazon Wish List at http://bit.ly/missionamazonlist.
