I'm learning to date rugs by matching colors to the right decade. I believe this one is a 1940's/50's Kashan. The size is 10x12 feet. It has a bit of moth damage in one corner, but is otherwise in very good condition. It's available! DM me for details.

I recently got this 'rainbow-licious' Kurdish prayer rug, c. 1900s, from an estate on the West Coast. The Isn't it unusual?!

What do you make of the repeating motif that looks like it has three eyes? Is there a name for that? Thanks in advance for any insights.

I source my rugs primarily from estates across North America. The rugs were made in Iran, Turkey, China and beyond, usually generations ago. Each piece gives me the opportunity to learn more, share the journey with others, and match the rug with a buyer who will truly appreciate it.
For me, the adventure started when I worked at a fine Persian & Oriental rug store during my teenage and college years. The designs, the colors, the sense of history and culture, the feel and smell of the wool, silk and cotton fibers, all captivated me. In more recent years I began to collect rugs and learn more.
