Quote from a dear friend:
“Family is a more profound web of dynamics than we often give it credit for.”
And often taken for granted! Seldom truly appreciated.
" O people of the world! Follow not the promptings of the self, for it summoneth insistently to wickedness and lust; follow, rather, Him Who is the Possessor of all created things, Who biddeth you to show forth piety, and manifest the fear of God. He, verily, is independent of all His creatures. Take heed not to stir up mischief in the land after it hath been set in order. Whoso acteth in this way is not of Us, and We are quit of him. Such is the command which hath, through the power of truth, been made manifest from the heaven of Revelation."
Bahá'u'lláh
Of many intentionally misused words one is “save” that is meant to confuse. We hear it often in commercials - spend $100 or more and save! What if I just keep my $100 and not frivolously spend it? Wouldn’t that be truly the saving?
"No one on earth, O my Lord, can withstand Thy power, and none in all the kingdom of Thy names is able to frustrate Thy purpose."
Bahá'u'lláh
Prayers and Meditations (p.16)
I think people who drive and smoke, especially at stoplights, are the most obnoxiously inconsiderate individuals who blow their poison out for others to get stunk by.
Someone once said when you love someone with dementia you lose them more and more everyday. When they are diagnosed, when they go through different stages, when they need treatment and when they die. This is called "Loss of Ambiguity. "
I wouldn't wish dementia on anyone. As the brain slowly dies, it changes physically and eventually forgets who their loved ones are. They can end up lying in bed not moving and not eating or drinking.
There will be people who will scroll by this post because dementia has not affected them. They may not know what it's like to have a loved one who has battled or is battling dementia.
To raise awareness of this cruel disease, I would like my friends to put this on their page today.

" O SON OF BEING!
Busy not thyself with this world, for with fire We test the gold, and with gold We test Our servants. "

The Eagle Court of Honor for Joshua Daniel Greene was held yesterday, 4th of May, 2014. His Scouting journey had begun as a Tiger in Pack 3619 in Simi Valley. After his Cub Scouting, Josh bridged onto Troop 618 where he worked through scouting ranks until 2009. He then transferred to Troop 698 and completed the remaining of his Eagle requirements.
A big "Congratulations" to Joshua and his parents is in order.
