We will have our June fundraiser at Funburger in Simi Valley on Tuesday, June 25th. Please come down to support a wonderful cause (animal rescue, scholarships), have one of the best burgers in town, and see an old American flag on display that may go back to the 19th century!

Our next fundraiser will be next Wednesday, May 15th, at Slice House, the newest pizza place in Simi Valley! Slice House is located on the northeast corner of Tapo Canyon Rd. and Alamo St. The fundraiser goes from 12 noon until 9:00 P.M. If you haven't tried Slice House yet, May 15th is a great day for it and you will be contributing to a wonderful cause!

We were at the Moorpark College Foundations Scholarship Reception this morning. We awarded Laurie White Memorial Scholarships to three animal care students. We do this every year. It is a labor of love.

Sad news from the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans.

Thank you to everybody who came down to Corner Bakery Wednesday to support our fundraiser. Your support is helping us with our continuing support of needy animals. It looks like we had a great turnout!

Spring Spectacular 2024 at The Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College started yesterday and continues today, as well as next Saturday and Sunday. They have tours and animal shows going on until 4:00. It is fun for everybody, especially the kids.

We are having our March fundraiser on Wednesday, March 20th, at Corner Bakery, located in the Simi Valley Town Center, 1555 Simi Town Center Way. It will run ALL DAY and they are donating 25% of the fundraising sales to our foundation, to provide support for pet rescue, wildlife rescue and scholarships for students in the Animal Care & Training program at Moorpark College. Please tell all your friends about it!

Our next fundraiser is Tuesday, February 20, at Wood Ranch BBQ in Moorpark. Come on out to Wood Ranch and support a wonderful cause.

The Laurie White Foundation will have its next restaurant fundraiser next week! On Tuesday, October 24th, please come down to Presto Pasta on Erringer in the Smart & Final center. Presto has some of the best pasta and pizza in town, and they will donate 20% of your total to our foundation to help with pet rescue, displaced wildlife and other needy animals. This also helps us provide scholarships for students in the Exotic Animal Training & Management program at Moorpark College. Thanks in advance!

A big thank you to all who came out Wednesday to Wood Ranch BBQ to support our fundraiser. It looks like it was very successful! The money will help us sent support for displaced wildlife when the fires hit our state.

We have a fundraiser scheduled at Wood Ranch BBQ in Moorpark on Wednesday, June 21st! The event runs all day. Come on out to Wood Ranch to help us support needy animals!

We awarded the Laurie White Memorial Scholarship to four students in the Exotic Animal Training & Management program. The scholarship breakfast was this morning at the Moorpark College Campus Center. There is always a big crowd here, since hundreds of scholarships are given out. The two young ladies you see in the photo are Kayley and Allison. Our other recipients, Aleeza and Genesis, were unable to attend, likely because they were working their shift at America's Teaching Zoo. Congratulations to all!

We received a lot of applications for the Laurie White Memorial Scholarship. We read each one, looking for the three best prospects. But there were four that really stood out, so we will award four students for the first time. The awards assembly will be on May 13th. We can't wait to meet these impressive young people!

At Easter time, many parents buy rabbits for their kids. They require their own specialized care, a little different from cats or dogs. You can learn a lot online or from a vet. Do your research first and ask yourself, "Do I really want to get a rabbit for the kids?". If not, don't. If you did and you don't want to keep it, take it to the shelter, or find a rabbit rescue organization. You can use Google to find a rabbit rescue.
