Kids can play and moms can connect - parents will be empowered and children will be encouraged!

Summer in the Psalms is almost over … thankfully His promises, love and care continue on!

Good News from the Olympics: the UK’s Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix won a bronze medal in synchronized diving. Andrea said, “I am proud to represent my country, my family, and glorify the name of Jesus.” She begins each day with prayer and ends it with Bible study. When a reporter asked her if she had any superstitious customs in diving, she said, “No, I let go and let God get to work. I pray and do Bible study before competition.” Before arriving in Paris, she shared Matthew 5:14 on social media: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” She determined to keep her faith bright and visible—and that’s a true Olympian in my mind.

Who remembers the movie, Chariots of Fire???
This 1982 movie depicts the real life story of Eric Liddell who in the 1924 Paris Olympics remained true to his Christian faith and refused to run on a Sunday in the 100 metre race which he was favored to win. Instead he was allowed to run in the 400 M which he had never trained for but won gold.
This year marks the 100 year anniversary of this incredible story and the Olympics are once again in Paris!

Pastor Terry preached his first sermon on the “big stage” this week at Gunter Camp and Conference Center! Great to explore this South Carolina Church of the Nazarene Campground that’s been providing a peaceful place for the good news of Jesus to be proclaimed for 75 years!

“The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”

Another busy week at Life Spring Church … getting a head start on packing shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child … starting by assembling a paper roll for each box with lined paper, plain paper and coloring pages each with a message that says “Jesus Loves You”!

School’s Out - time to celebrate …

In our fast-paced world, it is a challenge to slow down and remember that God is in control. We are a society of “do-everything,” “go-everywhere,” “get-it-done” people who mistakenly believe we can handle everything if we just keep going. In reality, we need to become so submerged in God’s peace that no matter what’s happening in our life, we are able to remain as calm as “the cushion of the sea.”

If you feel overwhelmed, bogged down, or burnt out, add one more activity to your daily schedule: Spend time with Almighty God. It is the only way to reach the depth needed to find true calm in the midst of any storm.

Our God is an awesome God!

Mother’s Day is coming and it can bring mixed emotions. Do you need some inspiration??? You’ll find it this Sunday 10:30 - 11:30 as Moms are honored. A special feature will be the reading of “A Mother’s Journey” - hope you’ll be there!

Today in our Prayer Journal, Pastor Gaby Rodriquez leads us in the following prayer: "Almighty God, who fills your church with resurrection power, fill us today anew with a resurrected hope that holds to the unwavering belief that our labor in and for you is not in vain." Amen!
