Testing and Star Wars
Parents,
If your child is an in-person, brick and mortar 3rd – 5th grader, on April 29, April 30, and May 7, your child will not be in the building, but will do eLearning from home. 3rd - 5th grade virtual students will be coming in the building for SC Ready testing. These are full school days for all students. Please refer to our website for a complete listing of testing dates.
All students, faculty, and staff are invited to join in the fun! On Monday, May 3, we will dress up like Star Wars to wish our upper grade in-person students good luck as they begin the SC Ready testing on May 4. No weapons are allowed. “May the 4th be with you” on testing!

SCREADY/SCPASS Testing
Dear Parents and Guardians:
The South Carolina College-and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY) are statewide assessments in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics, while the SCPASS is a statewide science assessment. SC READY is administered to students in grades 3-8 and SCPASS is administered to students in grades 4 and 6.
Students are required to test on-site at their brick-and-mortar schools of enrollment. Students will participate in testing on the following dates.
Subject Test Date
ELA Session 1 (Grade 3)- Writing May 4
ELA Session 2 (Grade 3)- Reading May 5
Science (Grade 4) May 6
ELA Session 1 (Grade 4-5)- Writing May 11
ELA Session 2 (Grade 4-5)- Reading May 12
Mathematics (Grade 4-5) May 18
Mathematics (Grade 3) May 19
The Science and Math tests will be administered online; therefore, GCSVP students should bring their charged, district-issued device on those days. Please have your student turn on their device and log in at home at least one day prior to testing to ensure the Chromebook operates as expected.
Students can access the Online Testing Video Tutorials and the Online Tools Training (OTT) modules to become familiar with the online testing system. Although the OTT looks like a real test, there is no score, there is no time limit, and students may use it as many times as they want. The video tutorials and OTT are accessible on the DRC INSIGHT Homepage at https://wbte.drcedirect.com/SC/portals/sc/ (use the Google Chrome browser on a Chromebook or Windows device) - click on the DRC INSIGHT Online Assessment Tutorial and the SC READY/SCPASS Online Tools Training icons on the lower part of the screen.

Today is Spirit Day at Chick-fil-A!!
We are SO excited to have the opportunity to let students shop at the book fair this week! The Related Arts team worked hard to get it all set up! Remember, this is a student-only fair, and no cash or checks will be accepted. All transactions must be completed using Scholastic's eWallet. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes, but this is the only way we could have a book fair in person this Spring instead of another online fair like we had in the fall. Please sign up for Scholastic's eWallet to support our fair!
Go cash-free! New digital payment option for our book fair. Visit our school's fair homepage to create or manage your eWallets.
