We love to see visitors at our new bird feeder!
This week we exchanged the artwork on the walls. Our artwork is provided by local middle school students and they are such creative kids. These teachers have very fun ideas and we are lucky enough to benefit from them! Next time you are in, look around. We would love to know which ones you like best!
Please welcome Erika!
My name is Erika Warren. I graduated from USD with a Master of Social Work degree in 2017. I have many years of social work experience in different capacities, but counseling is my passion. I began my career in the medical field and worked for 15 years before making the decision to return to school to pursue a degree in social work with a focus on outpatient therapy. During the years I worked in the medical field, I lived and worked on the Navajo Nation Reservation, as a flight paramedic for eight years. During that time, I observed many heartbreaking moments and I made the decision to return to school in order to help people different way, which I felt would be more beneficial to those in need. I practice a holistic approach by the integration of mental, physical, and spiritual wellness and tailor the roles they play in a client’s life, while honoring their individual needs and backgrounds.
Please welcome one our new therapist Holly Boettcher! We are excited to have her apart of our team.
There came a time when mental health affected my own family showing me personally how difficult the road can be. Experiencing some of the difficulties as a parent motivated me to do more. In addition to my experience as a social worker in family settings, hospitals and schools, my experience in social work expands to mental health centers, sexual assault centers and trauma related areas.
I recieved my Masters Degree in Psychology from Buena Vista University in 2020. I went on to receive my Masters of Social Work, specializing in trauma from Chamberlain University in 2024. Different tools used when supporting others include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical therapy and play therapy with kids. I do enjoy working with all ages and populations.
My goal with therapy is simple; to support others in finding peace, healing and joy as they work through whatever journey they find themselves on.
Welcome to one of our newest counselors!!
My name is Victor Bien, and I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). I was born and raised in Nigeria where I was conferred my bachelor's degree in counselor education from the University of Ilorin. I proceeded to bag my master’s degree in counseling and psychology at the University of South Dakota in 2021.
I have professional experience practicing in a school, inpatient, outpatient, and in a correctional setting; and I specialize in helping clients work through stress and anxiety, grief & loss, depression, self-esteem, anger management, and provide relationship/couples counseling.
Family is important to me, so I prioritize spending time with my wife, Courtney, and my son, Amari, when I am not working. I am a huge advocate for mental and physical well-being, so I utilize exercise for self-care. My favorite meal is jollof rice and fried plantains.
I am available for immediate openings and look forward to walking with you on your journey to a more fulfilling and happier life.
