Alaska communities of Port Alexander, Kake, and Angoon. In our direct services work, SAFV's advocates work closely with victims of violence to help them re-build their lives, free from violence. In prevention, SAFV's specialists work to create systems and programs within our community that promote healthy relationships and respect in an effort to create a strong, thriving community where violence is outside the norm. Both advocacy and prevention are essential to ending violence within our community. SAFV’s goal for Facebook is to build a safe community for discussion and education. We hope that this site can provide an open, comfortable space for conversation. We aim to provide updates about SAFV events and programs, as well as raise awareness, increase knowledge, and provide educational tools about intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We will do our best to post disclaimers if a post may contain triggering language or information. However, we understand that some triggering items cannot be anticipated by us. •Be respectful. That means no personal attacks, exclusionary or minimizing language, derogatory remarks, obscenities, name calling, vulgarity, libel, defamation, etc.
•No violence. SAFV will not tolerate any comments that are violent in any way. Once again, this means no personal attacks, derogatory remarks, or name calling. This also includes anything threatening or discriminatory, such as bullying, hate speech, sexism, racism, etc.
•Be constructive. Please keep your comments to the topic at hand, and try to move the conversation forward.
•When in doubt, use the Golden Rule. Treat others online the way you would like to be treated. Do not post comments you would not say directly to another person. Please consider how other people might react before you post.
•No spamming. Please help keep this page free of commercial endorsements; we will remove any post of this nature.
•SAFV abides by Facebook’s Terms and Conditions and asks you to do the same. You are solely responsible for the content you post. SAFV reserves the right to remove comments that, in our sole view, do not follow these guidelines, or suspend individual commenting privileges.
